Rofis MR50 -A compact long lasting powerhouse.(warning-Pic Heavy!!)

Hi ,I have been using this flashlight for the past 2months.Iam really happy with the product and would like to share my views.

When I first got this in my hand ,I was surprised how compact it was even if it contained a 5000 mah battery.Yes with the 21700 5000mah battery, this is almost twice as good as a regular 18650 flashlight in terms of runtime ,by having almost similar size. Before beginning here are some product details.

  • As the earlier ,big brother the MR70, the MR50 is also a very beautiful flashlight, with its uniform body construction. The anodizing is also great and looks shiny like the MR70.
  • The mr50 has a smaller xhp 50 v2, instead of the xhp 70 in the MR70.
  • But both these have a similar beam pattern. And I personally like it.It has a perfect blend of throw and flood with no artifacts. Thanks to its high quality orange peel reflector, it is a smooth beam.
  • The tint is towards the cooler end,and I would have liked to have a neutraloptiontoo.
  • The otg chargingfeature is also provided in this model too, and it can provide charging upto 2.4A.The one thing that I miss on this flashlight from the MR70 ,is that it misses the side light .May ,be due to its compact form, it was difficult for them to implement it.But it would have been an added feature,as there is no option in this flashlight to go to the lowest mode diectly. In the MR70, I managed it by going into the side lamp, in order to avoid sudden bright light by the main light.I think ,since there is no side light, Rofis could have given a direct access to lowest brightness. Also there is, no true low mode in this flashlight, like with the previous fenix models .Iam really happy that they ,have provided good quality holser and OTG cable .

The ,threading at the tail cap is well anodized to ,provide Mechanical lockout. It also has an electronic lockout mode achivated by pressing and holding the power switch , more than 3 sec.

  • Holding it for 2sec ,turns the locator feature, where the red led inside the switch blinks. This helps in locating the flashlight ,in dark.
  • The tail cap knurling is very grippy. Also the tail cap spring is very sturdy for good contact.

  • The provided , battery is a new type of battery size.Instesd of the traditional 18650 battery, the have provided a new sized battery, the 21700, which can pack more power. It is a 3.7v, with 18.5 wh.The battery provided is rofis branded high fischarge battery and is protected from overcharging and over discharging.
  • Measured the temperature at head during turbo
  • and it got as high as 65°c.
  • The temperature is quickly carried out from the led to the body, due to it's unibody construction.

What you guys ,think of the omission on side led and direct access to low??.For me these are must for an EDC flashlight.

How long does yours stay in turbo mode? Mine not even for 3 seconds, it goes almost immediately to high/medium.

No, mine stays more than that. But only when battery above 70 % of battery charge.

Again ,I checked the turbo mode using timer. At exactly 1 minute ,it steps down.

My battery is almost fully charged.

Check, after charging your battery.Hopes this helps
