Has anyone found a cheaper alternative to the Rofis R3, with a swivelhead and magnetic base?

Would be pretty nice the keep in the car!

I’ve found the Rofis R3 itself is currently discounted on Amazon. Does that help?

I don’t know if it’s an alternative, but I bought one of these cheepo’s.

I was working where i didn’t like bringing nice lights. Filthy, often drop, loose, etc. It has hideous UI. You have to go through red and red blinkies to turn it off. I got way more than my money’s worth out of it, and it’s still gong strong.

This is actually a pretty nice little 14500/AA light. I have acouple and when they can be found through Vipon or a flash sale they are $8.
I know the R3 is an 18650 so not comparing apples to apples but still a cool little angle head.

light addict....yeah I've got the bug.

I have the 14500/AA version and it is a nice little light. They make a 18650 light as well. I have no experience with it. Try Neals Deals. https://www.amazon.com/NICRON-Rechargeab-Flashlights-Rechargeable-Adjust...

On nealsgadgets.com it’s very expensive and Neal hasn’t replied to my PM here on BLF.

I messaged Neal and asked for BLF discount.
Getting it slowly price was around 45$
Getting it DHL (quickly) was $59
Was a deep deep discount

He just told me to order and use a special Code
I spoke with him on Skype. Super nice guy.Answered all my questions.

I know China had a special holliday for 2-3 weeks that just recently ended.
So they did not work.
I can not speak for Neal.

***As a fast update while I am here for just a min :
Love this Rofis R3.Really.It became my favorite EDC light ever.
I leave it in the angle config always.
Mode spacing has yet to be an issue.
Run time is fantastic. Regulation is just rock steady.
In actual use , it is more then bright enough for intended tasks.
In actual use , I have had NO issues with beam tint or exact shape of the beam circle ,that “white wall hunters” go crazy about
The combo of floodiness and throw is right on.
Moving the clip is the key (IMHO)
Battery that came with it seems to be of HQ.It is NOT one of those cheapy chinese batts that ends with “fire” that claims 9500Mah or something, that is really a 1800-2200….3400 seems correct (based on run time)
So far, seems to be real HAIII coating.(perhaps thin, but real) NOT just black paint or HA II. Light gets used for hours daily. So far no chips or scrapes on it.(seems a bit thicker then Thrunite)
Glass does in fact seem to be some version of gorilla (toughened) glass. No scratches yet
Got wet quite a few times, from splashes, to non stop rain to submerged.NO issues yet
NO issues finding the button at all in angle format with clip moved as I descirbed in some post here on BLF.Made the light SO much better!
Unless something stupid happens…I would tell anyone that wants a quality, handy as hell EDC to get this over all other lights.(buy a spare charge cord)

let me know if ya ever grab one, would like to hear other feedback.Outside of 5 min tests that are here and youtube, you never hear about ACTUAL use…as in long term.

Not that this means a damn thing: In person it Looks / feels like much higher quality then other lights flashlight guys would like /own.
Meaning it is NOT one of those DX or bangwhatever 3-9$cheapie lights.if it said Surfire or Streamlight or Fenix on it…I would not be shocked.it is NOT a copy of another light like so many others.
To date, I still rate it a 10 / 10
Should it fail early under normal use I will speak about it here.

If I remember correctly, you can get Neal on Skype at “zhopwind”

I did say DEEEEP discount =P
Neal is a good guy.Sent quite a few over to order from his shop

PLEASE when you get it in your grubby lil hands post here or message me somehow where review is.
Would love to hear first impressions and a week or 2 in after actual use. (assuming you just dont collect)

Going back in cave, gone for a while

We are tesing some nano-someshit 18650 that if I heard correctly 20 000mah and some non battery..uhh battery.
Has graphite or graphine in it and it is more a cap then a battery, charges FAST

Not sure how they work
Will see if I can keep one after operations are over. Perhaps I can send to a tech wizzard here for testing
I can say they last LONG.Much longer than the batteries that came with the R3 and TH30. Maybe 6-7x longer

Anyway done eating and PT.

*off topic, some may enjoy : Getting in we had to go through so so so much scrub and vines and jungle.(saw a spider the size of a catchers mit,no shit)
These works AMAZINGLY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NbYocm4RAU
A few had cheapie 10$ trampolina (something or other) they dulled fast, rusted fast and even took chips / rolls
My Bravo Machete never got dull,no rolls or chips. At camp I stropped it perhaps 15x a side (1 min or less) and it shaved again
I have made and used ( for those that may care) dozens of strops. For reasons I dont know, this is FAR better then all of them
https://www.knivesplus.com/KP-STROP8-STROPBLOCK.html
We have 2 of the White version also.White seems better for damage (stronger grit)
They gave us also this a while ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ai-XXvIOjXU
Tie for my favorite small-ish knife ever
Other is https://www.dlttrading.com/mini-kephart-black-canvas-micarta-317 (like this better if defence is not an issue)

Anyhoo,welcome JAAP
Hope you enjoy that sucka !
Please update me personally (PM,indetail if you feel like it) or do a review and let me know where I can find it) I am not able to read DLF daily or even often

We had at BX a DEEEEEEP discount on Fenix TK75
If I remember correctly was $115 Great light
Even had a special mil spec (like pellican) case for 11 bucks !
if you care, send Email I can send you pics of it or my other lights

I am 10-7

Don’t know of the quality because I don’t own one.

Quick question, does anyone know if there is a short-circuit protection in case the + and – of the magnetic charging “port” meet with a piece of metal (e.g. coins)? I generally avoid flashlights with such a port (Rofis R3, Skillhunt H03RC) fearing just that.

That's a Nebo Cryket, except the original Chinese.

The R3 came in today.
First impressions:
Nice solid lamp, quality appears to be very good.
I like the resistance in the swivelhead.
When the lamp is on your head with the strap, the power button is a little hard to reach (with the head in 90°).
Very promising so far.

I had the same impression. As for the button accessibility in headlamp mode, don't center the R3 on the headlamp. Leave room for the power button Big Smile
