I’m new to modding. I just finished putting in a 4000K 95CRI SST20 into my E01. I couldn’t stand the cool white it came with. The only issue I’m having is it only has one mode. Seems to be stuck in high which is what I would probably use it with most anyways, but I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts on why that might happen. I tried both alkaline and eneloop with the same result.
Sounds like you may have bypassed the driver with a short between the negative contact on the MCPCB and the body.

Is there anything I should be worried about given this is single AAA alkaline/ eneloop light? I was just thinking of leaving it since I probably wouldn’t use the other modes anyways.
