What do you like besides flashlights?

Hey guys,

What else do you like besides flashlights? consumer electronics? outdoor equipment? survival gear? Hunting gear?

I know many men like knives, bow, slingshot, guns. How about flasholics?

I like knives and headphones.

I've been collecting some of each lately.

I’m a major audio, video, tools, gadget, home improvements freak. I’ve also been a bass guitarist for close to 50 years.

Knives, flashlights, fishing and camping gear, firearms, and I collect and fix up old tube type AM broadcast radios. Mostly from the 1930’s and 40’s. I am also a amateur radio operator using mainly CW (aka morse code). So I collect and use a lot of old time telegraph equipment from years gone by. That is about it for me. I am interested to read what other people I have got to talk to and gotten to know a little bit on BLF are into as well.

Oculus Rift. Quad Copter (class 4). Power tools. Small generators. Chain saws. Micro brews.

Guns, outdoor stuff, computers, weapons in general.

Lasers, knives, Guns, Photography.

Photography is the worst as far as dollar drain. I am a Nikon user and have some high end glass…and boy is it costly.
My 200mm F2 ED VR2 is the most expensive piece I own. 5k plus. Yikes.
But worth it and epic. So epic!

Besides flashlight?
Headlamps.
Lanterns.
Worklights.
Searchlights.
Lamps.
Furniture lights.
Architecture lights.
Streetlights.
Light bulbs.
Car lights, mostly headlamps but interior lights and indicators as well.
Batteries.
Optics.
Materials science.
Thermals.
Electronics.
Embedded software.

So many hobbies and so little time……no wonder I can’t master even one.

My true passion is growing plants my garden looks like wholesale plant nursery .It gives me great pleasure when I have to choose a flashlight to go out and check my nursery after dark .There is always a pump or something that needs to be attended to at night.I don’t really need an excuse to grab the new Sorfirn Q8 haha.

Knives, multitools, EDC gadgets, DVDs and books

I only wish I could collect needs to be met, to match all the solutions that I have or want.

Knives, carabiners, EDC/tactical stuffs, chest bags, trekking poles, led lights, fidget spinners, walkie talkies…

Watches powered by cell batteries since these have the best battery life that don’t require charging frequently
Fast, quality quick charge USB multiport chargers, example: Blitzwolf

Cars, car parts, trucks, truck parts, travel gadgets or goods and EDC items, knives, guns/rifles, clothing, garage interiors & tools, electronic parts (semiconductors), ham radio, flashlights, books about cars, slingshots, smartphones (android), shaving (razors, soaps, utilities, blades), tools for electronics (soldering and more), VoIP, Kodi, general LED light design, single board computers, TV boxes, linux (kali), USB wifi adapters/long range wifi, r/c models (but don’t have anything), military surplus items (have stuff but don’t wear it really).

Padlocks

In addition to flashlights, I enjoy collecting knives (pocket and fixed-blade in the bushcraft style mostly), woodworking, being outdoors and playing the guitar and bass.

I’m in the planning stages of making some fixed blade knives out of a bar of 1095 steel and some ancient sawblades. I intend to make the sheaths and scales too.

For woodworking, I’m slowly (emphasis on the S-L-O-W-L-Y) fitting my house with furniture and projects out of a couple Black Walnut trees I had sawn into lumber years ago. They were from my childhood home and should keep me busy for a few decades. I built a queen-sized bed, sitting bench and am gearing up to make a dining room table. I also make small cutting boards and cheese trays to make some extra money to fuel my hobby.

I love the outdoors and backpack, camp and canoe pretty often. I’d love to do a long hike (Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada most likely) over the course of a few years. Maybe take it a month at a time. There’s a lot to see and I intend to do some exploring.

I am the worlds okayest guitarist and bassist. It’s fun and I like customizing and fixing up my own gear. I’ve made dozens of effect pedals and have parts for a few amplifiers. My dream goal is to build an acoustic guitar (or a bunch!) with some of the local and exotic wood I’ve got in my collection.

Thanks for starting this thread. It’s cool to learn about other interests from the forum members.

Women, women, then women…

Cheers

I like your hobby.
