Received my Nichia 219B today.

One of the legs on the optic is broken off because they used that hole for a screw:

I was planning to use a Samsung 50E, but it appears to be too long. After watching M4D M4X’s video I did not want to risk denting it by tightening the cap, so I used a Samsung 30Q instead. I will try the Samsung 40T with the XPL HI unit that should be arriving later this week.

LG M50 works fine and NCR21700A button top works fine too. I doubt the 50E is any longer.

50E fits just fine in E07. It’s the PL47 that is a real tight fit, but 1-2 mm copper washer in tailcap of PL47 allows 50E to work without having to tighten down hard.

The clear un anodized does look amazing and scratches probably will not show bad.

What makes it strange to westerners is when a item shows “ in stock” so you add that item to your cart. When checking out and paying, you are asked what shipping method, free “slow” or extra for faster options. So to avoid waiting over 2 months for shipping you $15 extra for (5-8) day shipping. Then after a week you email “Neal” and he says sorry will ship tomorrow. Then 2 days later with no tracking #, you email him again and he says ff will ship it tomorrow. FF? I thought I ordered from Nealsgadgets? Lol, that is the Chinese way. Item “in stock” but not shipped for weeks. Still haven’t gotten that tracking number…..

A few of you guys are too impatient to buy from China and are not accepting the chinese way, you better stick to Amazon or something else local.

This can not be the first time that you buy from China, then get no shipping info and that your emails are not answered, and still you decide to buy from overseas again and again. And when communication goes slow the moaning starts.

In all cases when chinese sellers get busy, and/or things are delayed, I noticed that the first thing they do is not communicate that with the customer, but instead remain silent. Bringing bad news is avoided if possible. It must be something in chinese culture that clashes with how we westerners like to see things done.

It does not neccessarily mean that something is terribly wrong, usually things are solved and unexpectedly the purchase arrives at your doorstep. Just the communication is not how you like it.

If you can not live with that the easiest is not to buy from China.

I’d like the code for buying directly from Fireflies’ site please. Love the clear anodized model.

Also, noob question here: Are 21700 protected batteries out there?

Yes there is. Besides Acebeam 21700 lights, I haven’t found any other 21700 lights that can fit protected cells.

I think the issue is that Neal also gets his goods directly from ff and reships to you. I bought 6 in 5 separate shipments from ff directly and they are slow to ship. So you ended up waiting for ff to ship to Neal first before he can ship to you.

You think the Acebeam will fit in the E07.

12/4 order for the grey w/ XPL from Nealsgadgets, still “unfulfilled.” This is torturous! Can’t wait to get it!

Today was a great day! Finally arrived. The Gun Grey is really nice. It had the tail cap o-ring pinched pretty badly, otherwise in great shape.. The aux LED’s are super cool. The fact that they’re different color than the switch is silly, but it doesn’t really bother me much.

It’s much smaller than I envisioned. Thr ramping is great and the output is pretty crazy. Very very happy with it.

Ordered my E07 3 days ago with freeme’a code directly from Fireflies, got my shipping notice today. It shipped China E-packet, hopefully faster than my PL47 which shipped registered post and took about a month.

Good to know, glad I ordered 1 from both. But didn’t pay extra for expedited shipping. Plus used the code found here. Nichia leds this order:)

I would be happy waiting a month with free shipping compared to paying $10 extra and it still takes a month or more lol. I’m almost 2 weeks in with no tracking info from Neal, so I ordered another directly from ff.

I’m interested. Where am I likely to get it shipped fastest from? Banggood?

Unless I’m mistaken, there is no Nichia option anymore on the Fireflies website and some aux colors are lacking, and on Banggood I can’t see how to chose the aux color. This led me to Neal’s, but I’m just wondering: is this store based in the US or in China? I’m in Europe and this may change the shipping time and likelihood of paying fees at delivery.

Also, does anyone have any pictures of the yellow aux? I’m having trouble choosing between the yellow or grey body, and all four aux colors. :> Are the red aux actually convenient for reading? I like the blue and purple tints, but am wondering whether the red wouldn’t be more comfortable for an actual use like reading without bothering people sleeping around with the white light (even at low intensity, it may be more distracting).

[Edit] How did people order different colors for switch and aux? I can’t see a separate choice on Neal’s website or others.

You can use stepped ramping, which allows you to set the min and max levels (while keeping turbo independent) and your choice of steps. Works very similar to how Ive heard the Armytek headlamp UIs explained.

May I have the Banggood coupon? [Edit: Nevermind, Freeme already sent it to me a few weeks ago.] And maybe instructions on how to choose the aux color on their store? Neal cannot ship the model I ordered on his store.

Thanks!

It seems that the E07 in silver version with Nichia 219B is now out of stock everywhere, with Nichia having discontinued the production of those leds. Sad. I guess there are no alternate resellers, even without the coupon?

I wanted a Silver E07 with Nichia 219B and red auxiliary leds; took me too long to decide I guess, I was already on the verge of ordering in December but waited for no reason.

Maybe you can try the newly available XP-L HI 5A version? I haven’t received mine yet but I have other 5A/5D lights and the tint is very similar to the 219B 9080. You lose the HI CRI and R9 but you get twice the output.

Unfortunately the CRI and R9 were the main arguments for me, I already have some powerful lights but none of them with such tint qualities. The E07, with its other characteristics, made it the perfect combo. I ordered one silver unit on Banggood this morning just before it showed as out of stock, hopefully this is accurate and mine is already reserved. Fingers crossed.
