Does anyone buy through JD.COM?

The New Yorker had an interesting profile (July 23, 2018) of China’s biggest online seller, jd.com — saying they have developed quite a good reputation for quality and avoiding counterfeit products.

Not much of jd.com is in English, which is the only language I read.

I’m curious if anyone reading here is buying flashlights or electronics through them. I really don’t know if they do export sales.

Flashlights: https://www.google.com/search?q=site:jd.com+flashlight&client=firefox-b-1-ab&sa=X&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ved=2ahUKEwiZ377Tm4XfAhWhq1QKHRIFCqAQsAR6BAgGEAE&biw=1797&bih=1060

Answering my own question (thank you Google): here’s their overseas/English site:

https://www.joybuy.com/

Here’s the search result for “flashlight” from that site:

Well the titles are a disaster.

They have some nice looking flashlights there. But how do we really know about the quality? I think you ought to buy a half dozen different flashlights from them and review every one. :smiling_imp:

Looks like a lot of nice host lights to me. Not sure I could trust their descriptions.

Do read the New Yorker article (link above). Sounds like when your customers are in the same country, care not to sell crap or counterfeits pays off.

It does look like a lot of innovative naming has gone on there with flashlights, as is familiar.

I have to get me one of those Jingdong Supermarket flashlights.

I have many orders from this site. Most are Xiaomi products, USB memory sticks and microSD cards. Are were original and legit.

Didn’t order any flashlight.

I know what I want for Christmas! I’m going to have to strengthen my neck but I’m sure it will be worth it!

Cannot recommend jd.com if you are regular buyer.
They provided great discount when started, but all services were under the bottomline and as far as I know they are still so.
They can ship $20-$50 gadget without any protection packaging, or ship $100 phone without tracking, or ship goods 50 days after payment etc.
It may be usefull if you are ordering batch of items for resell and you need lowest price and bad shipping services can help to bypass custom limits. In other situations - please avoid them.

I’m sorry for bad experience, but interesting, I have opposite experience with them.

All items were with tracking number and all received in no more than 20 days (for gearbest and banggood is 30 days average, aliexpress 20), even cheap $3-4 items.

Maybe it depends on country they ship to…don’t know.
