GA3/GA4
We can’t choose the specific tint bin unless we order a full reel.

If you have not made an order yet I’d like to get 5 SST20 3500k added to my list.

I have a question. I have a E2L and would like to put some new leds in it. Which led should i take SST-20 4000k 95CRI or LH351D 4k?

@TheOnlyDocc, you will get higher R9 and more throw with the SST-20.

Since you are using it in a small EDC triple, I would just go for the SST-20 for better usability at lower lumen levels.

BlueSwordM 10pcs
Pavlo 4pcs
skinny_tie 5pcs
HONDARIDER 5pcs
808HI 15pcs
Tom E 20pcs

Total for now: 59pcs

We need about 41 more SST-20s 3500k to get to the lower price bracket.

Ok then, no problem there.

And besides, I’m not ordering the 4000k version YET anyway. Only the 3500k variant.

If you aren’t ordering the 4000k, I’ll grab another 4 × 3500k for a total of 8.

Thanks

Yeah I’m not ordering the 4000k version YET. A 5 week lead time does hurt quite a bit.

Edit: I meant that I’m not ordering them yet, until I find a source of good below BBL SST-20s.

So no SST-20 4000k at all? Or will they be available when you get the springs?

The 4000k SST-20 will be available with the springs, no problem there.

I’m just trying to find a lead for below BBL SST-20 4000k 95CRI, and I haven’t yet.

I’m really sorry if it’s taking a long time. Trying to find tight bins on new LEDs is really hard, since I have to ask places like Digikey, Mouser, Arrow, Cutter, etc, to see if they stock specific tint bins of the LED, and most of the time, they say no, they either have no stock, or the stock they have isn’t what we want Sad

Then make my (10) 4000k order, 3500K instead.

No, no. I’ve edited my post.

I meant that I’m not ordering them yet, until I find a source of good below BBL SST-20s.

If I can find SST-20 4000k under the BBL this January, then I’ll order the springs and SST-20s 4000k at the same time.

Otherwise, I’ll just get the springs.

Ok I’ll order 10 SST-20 3500k. Would have ordered more if it was J4 bin but can’t always expect perfect.

Oh yeah, I made a mistake Facepalm

The GA3 bin at Mouser is in stock now, not in the J3 bin, but J4 flux bin.

We hit the jackpot for the 3500k!

The only way we could get the 3500k in the GA4 chromacity bin, as said before, would be to order a full reel, and go down a flux bin.

But J4 flux bin and GA3 tint bin is still great.

It’s a bit problematic with the 4000k version though…

If the 4000k is not available / or to hard to get i will take 3 of the 3500k. With a Vf this low i will have to search for the right driver for a tripple.

Intl-outdoor posted their SST20’s for sale as bare LEDs. Does anyone know what bins they have? Have they been tested by anyone with a color meter?

Yeah, that's disappointing for Hank - no bin info, no 3500's, no details on tint. He's usually good with the details so maybe he doesn't have the specifics on these. Good reason to stick with Blue's buy.

Wait, Hank isn’t selling the 3500k variant?

Odd, especially since it’s below the BBL, and would be very nice since you would not have to tint mix using 2 LEDs of each CCT, raising costs and complexity on Hank’s end.

We are at

1530 large springs
1510 small springs
359 SST-20 4000k 95CRI
263 SST-20 3500k 95CRI
105 SST-20 3000k 95CRI

Early birds SST-20 3500k J4 GA3:
BlueSwordM 10pcs
Pavlo 4pcs
skinny_tie 5pcs
HONDARIDER 5pcs
808HI 15pcs
Tom E 20pcs
SKV89 10pcs

We are at 69pcs of LEDs. We need at least 31 more SST-20s 3500k to get the 100pcs cost bracket.

4000k is J5 flux bin FB4 tint bin
3000k is J4 flux bin HD2 tint bin

They are higher tint bins than the other SST-20s available

Then why not post it? He's pretty good at that for others, like the white flats, just seems odd to me why he'd leave that out - maybe he'll add it.

I've bought tons of LED's from Hank over the years - sometimes in qty 50. Someone should just ask him to add the details to the listing - he'd probably do it.
