Looking for a maximum lumens flooder…Startup lumens is important and hopefully some staying power for a few minutes
without withering to 1000 lumens or something
I have an ‘old’ triple-emitter Skyray King - so hopefully a very noticeable improvement over it.
The limiting factor is $ - I have only $50-$70 to spend with $90 being the absolute maximum.
I realize that the candidates are a few and far between Astrolux MF01 and Haikelite MT03 TA etc.
Any other ideas?
Haikelite MT03 TA. But there were reports of problems with the driver MT03 TA and MT09 TA. I have not seen any official comments from Haikelite whether the problem has been fixed. The closest competitor is much more expensive Olight x7.
Astrolux MF01 heats up faster and stronger.
Yes - The uncertainty of Haikelite quality is the only thing holding me back. They all look so chintzy and cheap in the pictures too. On the other hand - I have never seen/held one in person to know any better.
The MT03 actually has a very high quality solid build. Heat dissipation is 2nd to none in its size category. Works great but the one I’m using was modded by TA himself.
Other great options for a cheap and powerful flood light are the Fireflies ROT66 and the E07.
Don’t think it will be able to sustain 6k lumens indefinitely without getting overly hot especially indoor. 6k real ANSI lumens is a lot of output since manufacturers ratings are typically 20% or more than real output. With only 3 emitters, it won’t be running at high efficiency low lumen range. Probably if you use it outdoor in freezing temperature with a good breeze, it could be possible.
I agree with skv89 about the mt03. my rabbit chewed the notebook which have all the lumen info… i tested the mt03 skylumen version, and believe 15000-16000 lumen… i dont know what skylumen did to the light, but its still have stock driver…
