USB Rechargeable Battery - Charging Question

I just got a Wuben E05 light (very nice btw), and it comes with a Wuben 14500 battery that is USB rechargeable. First time I’ve had a battery like this. The instructions only mention recharging the battery using USB. Is it safe to also charge these types of batteries using a normal smart charger instead, or will it maybe damage the battery or conflict with the USB charging circuit somehow?

The integrated charging circuit is just placed parallel to the cell, nothing will happen if you charge them with a regular charger.

Thanks, will34. That’s what I was expecting, but just wanted to be sure.

All the batteries I’ve seen designed like that are able to be charged both ways. By pluging the USB cord into the battery or putting the battery in a standard charger.

Keep in mind that this style of battery is prone to failure over time.

But who knows, maybe the batteries that Wuben chose to use are good quality.
