Simon, is there an easy method to change or disable the temperature regulation of the L21a SST40 driver (i have the version with 4 modes only) ?

Maybe by disassembling the temperature controller, or soldering a bypass resistor, or just bypassing it with a wire?

Simon, any ideas about this ?

i didnt get reply from manufacturer, yet.
i will reply you later

Thank you, looking forward to it !

Sorry I don’t fully understand the picture. The circled spot is I suppose the thermal sensor controller, but what should we do to disable it if we don’t want the temperature control on the SST40 4-mode driver? The circled part has to be unsoldered? Pardon my ignorance..

This is a triple SST40 right? (I saw some mention of triple SST20…) Any approximate lumens numbers for this Convoy S12?

Do some LED bins only exist on paper? Seems that way.

Yes, I think some only exist in spec sheets. Kind of like “if we were to produce some, this would be the item number for it”.

For endeavors such as this, Octopart is a great resource… just search for the Cree order code. Pretty much anything I’ve found has a 1000pc MOQ though. Sad AVNET supposedly has it in stock (with the 1000pc MOQ). Other places such as Mouser and Digikey also list it, “non-stocked” with 1000pc MOQ meaning that you should be able to place an order (for 1000pcs) and they’d procure it for you.

Now if you don’t mind going for the ANSI versions instead of the EasyWhite versions, you can get the XHP35-HI 4000K 90-CRI in B4 flux bin (XHP35A-H0-0000-0D0UB40E5) from Mouser in 1pc increments for USD $6.50

I was able to get 2 minutes runtime from the M3 on turbo … on a bicycle, while I was in motion.
I had to switch it off, because someone appeared in the road, and I did not want to blind him/her Big Smile

Actually, id I don’t want to see very much ahead, but just avoid from overhead trees, etc, the High mode is just enough. I even put a lens in front of it to have a wider beam, which of course make the hotspot less bright.

Anyone knows if this light will have a clean beam pattern with the 219B based on their experience?

Will the carclo triple/quad compatible model follow soon after the release of the reflector model?

Can you perhaps measure the reflector? I have a S11 on the way, might want to make a quad mule out of it.

diameter 28.5mm
height 20.7mm
diameter of bottom hole 7mm
weight 10g
suitable for XML2 XHP50 XHP50.2

I measured it up ages ago when looking for options – I think I found a ledil and a carclo that would be close, but still not 100%.

Edit: from memory, the opening at the head is 25mm, in case you find a TIR with the “shelf” bit.

A mule with TIR optic? A mule is a flashlight without any optic.

I didn’t say I want to install an optic. I want to install a quad MCPCB and a spacer, together with a lens and some film to diffuse the light a bit.

Simon would you consider manufacturing a P60 style host in 21700 format? The design in 18650 was flooded on the market. But now good host have nearly dried up and no one every built it in 21700 format. If a host was built to your quality standards I’d replace every P60 host I own now. SF compatible except tail cap, as body diameter is increased to 28-29mm’s.
