Perhaps I have bad luck with DD but this is too much even for them. Two orders, both messed up, third one still didn't arrive (after more than a month)
That's too bad. When I saw the photo, I thought it would be easy to fix, but obviously the wrong emitter is the REAL problem.
I have ordered 4 lights from them this past week using the coupons. I hope no major screw ups with any of those.
Not only wrong emitter but that emitter is not even mounted on aluminium star, it's glued to pill with kapton tape between as electrical (and thermal) insulator !
Perfectly good recipe to cook that poor led. Driver is regular direct drive with PWM limiting (DD+100 Hz/60% duty + 100 Hz/40% duty + strobe+sos) 2,5A at max.
Last night i was tempted to order more flashlights from them, but now I'm not so sure...
You know, I ordered that exact same light hoping to get the SS bezel and XM-L, but I got the exact same thing as you...
In the process of trying to get my money back now.
I'm patiently waiting what they manage to wreck this time. I got a confirmation of my order being shipped. 6 days later another for the same item. I would understand if i had ordered a few items but it was just one. Strange...
Also they apparently like to split orders but you're not notified. They manage it as two parcels with the same ID. The items left both with 1 day of delay. One came 6 days ago the other is yet to be seen, if it eventually arrives... :/ 2o days for paypal left or so, but i would use it as last resort as always...
My past two orders from them have been HORRIBLE!!!!
That has got to be one of the ugliest setups I’ve seen, even out of China. I will definitely never purchase from these guys. I just keep shaking my head at the tape and the 2oz. gop of glue and the emitter. My grandaughter could have done better than that. Like I have always been told, there’s no quality control out of china. They don’t believe in that stuff. Looks like that’s right!

LOL...I just looked at the link to see what light it was and it's the same C8 I ordered a month ago that was supposed to be a Trustfire with Stainless bezel. I received a Uniquefire C8 instead and it's a damn good light in spite of not being the Trustfire I ordered. I checked with them about exchanging it for the Trustfire pictured and they informed me that they don't really carry the TF with the SS bezel. I got a full refund and a nice light free of charge. At least what I received was well made and not that ridiculous crap you received.
Contact the Dino's CS as well as Summer and they will refund your money since it's not what you ordered. I still can't get over the way they mounted that MC-E style emitter on your example. WOW!
The 900 lumen rating is the only thing that carried over from the original P7 description.
After few question marks dropped on my head I taught why the hell did they put kapton tape ?!? There's no wires/traces to short with reflector. Then I tried to pull them off...
I received UniqueFire too last time and since it is quite nice light I decided to buy another one to spend my gift card and I end up with this.
To make things even more bizarre this one is (real) Trustfire with much better finish than uniquefire but with different (wider) pill than xm-l version so no instant fix.
I think it is even better than using a star. But they did an ugly job nonetheless.

Perhaps it would be better if led was glued with hi-quality thermal glue (like arctic alumina) and without kapton tape between !
Most probably it's the main factory, don't think they have control over this. Don't know why this can get past the Trustfire QC though.... No worries, just open a case and get a giftcard.
I'm sure they (DD) can't QC every item but they could at least ship correct item from time to time...

P7 has to be isolated from ground-that's why the tape.
That's why they can afford to sell lights so "cheap"
