Reflector question about a (red) Convoy S2+ host

Hi everyone!

I bought a red Convoy S2+ host from Banggood and it arrived yesterday.
When I took it apart I noticed that the reflector looks different than the one in my older S2+.

I took some pictures of it. Here is the link: OneDrive folder

Both the convoy aliexpress store and banggod has the cylindrical type on their pictures and not this cone shaped one.

What do you think, this new reflector is an original one or somehow it got replaced?

(The other components are looking good, it even came in the nice hard paper box.)

Hm, I can’t say (or deny) if cone shaped reflectors are the latest cry, but ……
The half dozen S2 and S2+ I bought the last couple of years from several sellers ALL had cylindrical reflectors.

Curious what other recent purchases deliver.
And some comparisons if it even makes much difference in a tube light. Improved beam pattern or just cost savings?

Probably the last. The inside of the reflector is/should be the same in both variants.
But cylindrical reflector offers more surface on the “outside” to shed heat.

Xm or xp might be another possibility. Been too long since I bought an S2 or S2+.

But I do like the cone shape for the wire soldering clearance.

I tried to take a picture of the texture of the reflectors side by side but its not easy because they are very reflective ( :smiley: )

The texture is different a bit, the cone shaped has larger spots.
I tried them both but there is no big difference between them.
