Hi guys and gals.
I’ve watched as many videos as I could find and did as much reading as I could, but still can’t nail down which emitter to get.
I like NW. So have been looking at the XP-L HI 4000K, and 5000K as well as the SST20 4000K and 5000K.
Any thoughts, opinions, comparison beamshots, or advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

XPL-HI 5D has a beautiful tint and light temperature combo if you are open for warmish-neutral light with a slightly rosy tint.

I like the 3A xp-l hi tint, not too warm, not too cool

That is what mine is and is very nice. I don’t see it as an option anymore or I’m missing something.
Edit , I see MTN still has it, not INT-Outdoor.

I think Richard at Mountain bought a large batch at the start. His options have appeared to stay the same while new emitters have been offered from Intl-Outdoor. I just checked and he has 106 in stock.
I am looking exactly at the same options also. I have narrowed it down to the 5000K tint now and I do like a little more throw, (and all the D4/D4S have at least a mix of flood/spill) so I think the SST20 5000K will be the one I go for personally.

INT still shows it as an option … shown just below the flow chart to the left.
OTF lumen output and candela at start-up
XP-G2 S4 : 3300lm / 40,000cd
Nichia 219C : 3000lm / 20,000cd
XP-L HI : 4300lm / 45,000cd
XP-L HD : 5100lm / 27,000cd
SST-20 6500K: 4200lm / 58,000cd
SST-20 5000K: 4000lm / 55,000cd
SST-20 4000K/3000K 95CRI: 3000lm / 41,000cd

I have the XP-L HI 5000K and love it, but would like to try the SST-20 5000K for more throw

But in the order options I don’t see it. Maybe can ask.

You’re right.
I don’t see it in the order options.
I’m sure he’d make one for you if you request it.

Is there some advantage to the Nichia 219C that makes up for it being the dimmest emitter option? The high CRI characteristic seems to now be eclipsed by the SST20 emitters.
Are some emitter options able to maintain their turbo output for longer than others before automatically stepping down? Related: Which emitter options heat up the flashlight the slowest on turbo?
Them there Nichia’s get hotter than a $2 pistol. Awfully pertty, but hot hot hot.

I’d really like to see the XP-L HD beam compared to the HI.

Heartily endorse SST-20 4000. I like it better than 219c. Great tint and some throw, but others I am sure have their merits too. Wish I had ’em all.

Very nice colors at mid-power. Near turbo, it bends towards purple a little bit / gets rosier, which is a bit less appealing for me, but still very good.
I like the throw of this emitter + optics combo.
