Remember that time Old Lumens...

I’d been searching for a mod of Justin’s off and on for quite some time now and am never able to find it and an idea hit me; maybe other people might remember it specifically or be able to come up with better search terms to use or, perhaps other people might be in the same situation as me so I thought up this idea for a thread and wanted to give it a shot.

If you’re looking for a post / thread / photo of Old Lumens that you remember but just can not find (AFTER searching) describe what you can remember and let’s see where this goes!

I remember one time OL added an e-switch in the side of a lights head that only had a tail switch. I remember he drilled a smaller through hole and a larger step down from the outside for the switch PCB. I don’t remember if he threaded it for a screw in retaining ring or used a press in / glue in retainer.
I believe it was a medium size thrower like an L2 or an HD2010 but I could be way off base there.

If anyone could help I’d greatly appreciate it! If anyone has any other ideas they’re searching for and wanted to give it a go asking here I think this could be a pretty cool thread.

Here,
Small Sun SS ZY-T08 5-up Mod;

May be others he made as well, but think this was the first.

Thank you sir! I’ve usually got pretty good Google-Foo, don’t know how I didn’t find that… Edit: OMG look, I even posted in it lol.

If anyone else needs this it’s here to use.

Great thread idea Cereal_killer!

Miss you OL …

This just got me watching his youtube channel. I was soldering a driver into a brass pill the other day, so watched his method - very enjoyable…. such a shame he’s gone.
I just heated the pill from the outside no driver in, with my dremel soldering iron (without tip so is a small flame torch) when it was nice and hot dropped the driver in warmed that with the soldering iron (which takes seconds), and boom the solder flowed right in, all the way around. That way you don’t get the components falling off, well mine didn’t lol!
