Hello to the BLF crew!

Hello my brothers and sisters from another mother!

I’m a 10+ year veteran of CPF and a bunch of other forums. I’ve played with swapping emitters in Novatacs and the old Blackhawk Gladius / Night-Ops Typhoon. I’ve just now been getting into building my own modules, mainly focusing on a handrolled module for my old school Surefire M3. Been swapping reflectors, pill, driver, and emitter to be what I want. Everytime I Google the current I need to put through an LED, I find djozz’s fantastic tests over here on BLF. I’ve already got my next two builds figured out from his awesome current/lumen graphs for XHP50 and SST40. I’ve stumbled on BLF stuff here and there over the years I figured I needed to get over here and poke around, share, laugh, cry, and see what you guys are up to.

Thanks! Look forward to meeting you all.

Hi and welcome sween1911. There are quite a few very talented members here. BlueSwordM has a couple of springs every modder should have on hand.

Sweet! Thanks for the link. That sure beats burning my fingers trying to solder bypass wires into tiny springs I found in my workshop.

Welcome to BLF Joe! I hope that you like it here, we have a nice bunch of people here.

I’m glad that you find my tests useful.

I tried posting them on CPF too at some point but got only questions in response doubting my methods (which I did not claim to be lab-quality and my numbers were never intended to be used in the lab, but simply give good clues for flashlight modders), so it did not feel like my tests were appreciated and so I stopped posting there.

Welcome to BLF! The testing djozz does is invaluable, for sure. There are other members here that also test other components and aspects of our hobby. Poke around in the search bar, or just peruse the forum categories, and you’ll soon find a wealth of information available to help you do things you never knew you wanted to do!

Hi & welcome! Good to have You here!

Thanks for joining the gang, sween1911!

Welcome to the bright side

Welcome to BLF, sween1911. A lot of people have taken the same route.
After they found out that building something is much more rewarding than buying something.

And you will notice that our Mr. Admin. is much nicer than Xenia Onatopp.
