hi all, new in with my first post…
is there an actual use for auto buck boost circuits with LED’s?
i have used external auto buck boost for voltage along with the ebay dimmer switch’s used after the buck/booste board with no problems, but, ehhh, external battery and box packs aren’t really flash lights for simple handling, even if they get the job done for long run time lights.
i do have a auto buck boost cc/cv board but have’nt had chance to implement any real testing yet, i have used the cc/cv ‘charging’ boards for a few years now and get good run times and good results regarding brightness drop off at the short end of the batteries charge.
(same again as above, external packs…erghhh…and wire and plugs lol and tangles etc etc).
you can fit some buck cc/cv ebay boards into a 26650 tube and jack plug the tail switch hole, and of course carry the battery external.(and wires n tangles etc.)
the main draw backs regarding amperage is 1-1.5amps most.(and probably quite low efficiency).
as far as i can see a slightly varying voltage does’nt change the range of throw that much, eeahhhh ish as long as the amps are right, but, well… having it all ‘constant’ would be nice. There is a use for that constant distance thing, short example is 300 yards away at the start of the night but now its pushing 247 yards, or something, or other, helps to bugger your distance perception.
(i’m thinking with the additions of atiney chips etc a very nice curve could be implemented for a very even ramp or even a serious temperature monitoring for constant outputs?).
reading through the forum i get the general jist of the electronics and the likes but have’nt got the equipment or finer details and experience, so still at a ‘newbie with ideas stage’ lol sorry…
so what’s people think? is there such things already?
here’s some links to the type of boards and dimmers (not where i got mine so just for reference).
