Looking for a good value, good performance headlight.

Need something for everyday (more or less) use.
What would you say is the best budget light up to $40?
The andgled type you attach to a headstrap is an option as well so do not restrict yourself to the ones with separate battery pack that comes together with the head band.

My review

Skilhunt H03 in NW, running on a Samsung 30Q batt.
Deals are out there for $25 ish
Don’t fall for the $35 deal recently posted by skilhunt.

Any tips on where I can find one around $25?

I have a skilhunt H03 and it was disappointing. It doesn’t throw far. I have the Nitecore HC50 as well and will grab it every time over the H03.

I like the H03, but I dont want throw from a headlamp. Its got a great floody beam. Not too wide, but not to throwy.

I use mine hunting. I need a solid 100 yards out of my headlamps. The H03 doesn’t do it.

Generally a headlamp is used for close quarters work and most prefer a TIR optic, not a hot spot from a reflector type throwy light.
I had an Imalent HR20 that I disliked because of the hot spot it made. Always grabbed the H03 over that light beacuse if its wide spread of light. Gave HR20 away but put a grid TIR into it beforehand. Went to a friend that needed the USB rechargeable without getting in too deep with batts and chargers.

I would also join this question - a friend of mine needs this for night skiing with even further throw. My best suggestion was to try KD bike headlamp on the helmet eventually, but if somebody else has other suggestion, I would pass it on.
