[Solved]Is there a "block user" function on the forum?

I’d like to block a couple of users that basically seem to babble nonsense, so I don’t even see the post cluttering the thread.
Can’t seem to find the block function found on most fora.
Is there such a thing on BLF?

I believe it's possible with the extension Stylus, but I don't know the details.

Click on messages on the left sidebar and go to the blocked users tab.

I think that applies to Private Messages only - not the forum.

Here's the instructions:

You need Stylus, which is available for Firefox, Chrome, and maybe others.

Testing

Did someone say something?

Wow, that worked instant as the code was entered and saved. Thanks for posting that

guess I’m not smart enough to figure this out, is there a tutorial somewhere? I got the after dark style going, but can’t figure out anything else. how does one add code?

Since you are already at blf, in the upper right hand corner (styles icon), you’ll see “write style for”, and you’ll see the blf url. Click on the url and the “Add style sheet” will come up. Enter the code in, call whatever you want and click save. Instant gratification… lol

:cowboy_hat_face: Where’d everyone go? :cowboy_hat_face:

Ok, I have gotten it to blank signatures, but I don’t see any user number when I hover over a user handle (just says view user profile) to be able to put that into the script.

Look in the bottom left corner.

Wow, I expected that to block just the content, not the entire post. Thanks for the tip raccoon city.

wait, where did he go?

Wow. Didn’t know this existed… I can think of a few to add to that list. Maybe I’ll hang around more now :exclamation:

Anyone get this code working on Opera? It would surely make my own BLF experience more enjoyable. If anyone got it working on Opera or doesn’t mind sending me a screen shot of their code via PM, I can take a look and see if I am doing something wrong. This is the code I have. Of course without the user number. Is this what everyone else has?

SORRY, FIGURED IT OUT……………I had the “applies to” selection all wrong. Had to change it to “URLs on the domain”. Works like a charm. Thanks guys and gals.

Did you know you can use Chrome extensions in Opera?

Instructions in the OP of this thread:

Yes sir, I stumbled across that somewhere not too long ago. I don’t necessarily use many of them but it’s nice to have the options. I am only a very lite user of the interweb box here at the house. Usually I just read some news, check out a few things I am interested in and do a little shopping once in a while. I don’t even use any type of local server for media or anything at the house. I guess you could say i’m kinda old school.

I didn’t even have a smart phone up until 2 years ago. I still don’t even use it to it’s full potential. Every time I attempt to touch it, it does something I have to have my 13 year old fix. I’m not even that old (46) but I am still stuck in a simpler time. I still talk to most of my friends using morse code on a 20 year old radio on an antenna I built using ladder line and a homemade tuner. I still listen to AM broadcast radio using tube type radios made in the 30’s. I still have my original Atari 2600 and a Colecovision. I still have a rotary phone but it doesn’t work on these new VOIP phone lines out here, and I don’t even know my own home phone number anyway.

Guess I could use a update, maybe a iTodd 2.0

Pretty cool eh? It will block the user even if he’s the OP, and leave the rest of the posts.
