Help a Disabled US Veteran Get a Home

I am posting this in the off topic and I hope it is allowed. If not feel free to delete it but I have to try and spread the word for this man. He is a Disabled US Veteran that had his home more than half destroyed by Hurricane Michael but FEMA decided its still good enough to live in for 4 months so they did not help him get a house. A friend of mine went to Panama, FL to help out and this story broke my heart. He started a gofundme page to raise the funds to get a house built for him. Im asking for people to share the word and get more eyes on the situation. If you feel inclined to share a couple of bucks I would appreciate it as well. I will be pitching in when I get paid instead of a new flashlight. Here is the website to the gofundme page:

Need a little info:
What is branch of service, MOS, type of discharge, date of discharge, first 3 digits of service number.

I wish I had this information right now but I’ll do my best to find out and report back. I believe my friend that helped move debris from his house knows this information.

I’ve seen so many scams that maybe it’s hard to be objective. The man has no family that will step up? The government has abandoned him and his insurance wont pay out. All 3? Really? Don’t you find that strange? Sorry if that comes off wrong, but my only question is this: did your friend personally know this guy or did he/she get involved based on internet info? For myself, I would go to anyplace in the US to help an army brother out, brother being someone I served with, not say, a guy like Nathan Phillips who says he’s a vet. I still see buddies on occasion so many years later and we’re still close.

If my house burned down and in succession the insurance, then the government, then my family, and then even my bank all looked over and said: we don’t give a crap about you, and won’t help. I’d find that shocking and damn strange. However, even if all that occurred, if I made one or 2 phone calls to old old army buddies there would be a group here and by G*D they would rebuild my home and make it even bigger. I’d do the same for every one of them too.

That’s why I won’t give to your cause.

Tbh, disabled Vet means a bit to me. Is he incapable of self support? Is he service connected? Sah? Sha?

Have the local and state service officers sought all available benefits?

Is the house under a va home loan?

Really want to help. BUT NO. Why? Too many SCAMMERS running on the websites ripping people off. Unless DETAILED SERVICE info is provided. Then NO THANKS.
