The build quality on this flashlight is EXCELLENT. The machining and finish is SUPERB !!! Made of Aerospace Aluminum Alloy. The hard anodized type 6061-T6, Mil-Spec HAIII protects flashlight from EXTREME environments. Dual firm brass springs on tail cap and head area greatly aids in conductivity from battery. O rings seals prevent any type of moisture entrance into flashlight. The front of flashlight head is encased by a semi aggressive stainless steel strike bezel. The strike bezel protects Anti Reflective coated lens. Stainless steel bezel can be used DEFENSIVE TOOL in case of emergency. Fend off attackers, Break windows in emergency OR use as STRIKING TOOL in ANY DANGEROUS situation. The knurling texture aids and helps for great non slip grip.

Advanced Temperature Regulation better known as ATR. Helps protect light from overheating when light reaches temperature of 55 degrees Celsius (131 degrees Fahrenheit )
Automatic step down mode after 2 minutes of Turbo Mode aids and prevents overheating of light.
Both ATR and step down design features work parallel to prevent overheating and damage of flashlight.
Reverse Polarity Protection. : Prevents flashlight damage if battery is installed backwards.
High Voltage Protection.: The light can not function or be turned on if voltage is higher than 5 Volts.
Low Voltage Protection : The ” Turbo ” mode will be automatically disabled if Voltage is lower than 3.4 Volts. Automatically steps down to lower modes if Voltage is lower than 3 Volts. The flashlight completely turns off automatically if Voltage is below 2.6 Volts.

The orange peel reflector design disperses light beam evenly with great lighting whether near or far distances. The center hot spot is evenly dispersed with VERY LITTLE light artifacts. The hot spot is not tight focused and decent sized allowing for good throw distance and flood of light beam. The tint is more on Cooler side.
Operation of light is controlled by lighted side smart switch. The user interface is pretty simple.
To turn light on/off : one click
Cycle through light outputs : press and hold to cycle from low, medium, high ……
Access Turbo Mode : From “on” or “off” position double click.
Access Eco/Moonlight Mode : Press and hold button in ” off ” position.
Access Strobe : Double click to Turbo, Double Click again.
The Sofirn SP33 is rated at IPX68. Waterproof up to 2 meters. Submerged flashlight in deep water tank . Left inside for 1 hour. Removed from water tank, unscrewed tail cap, and looked inside. Completely dry. No sign of water entrance into light. Turned on light. Cycled through all light modes easily with no problems.
The impact/drop resistance rating is 1 meter. Dropped multiple times on different sections of flashlight. Waist high drops. 2 times on stainless strike bezel, 2 times on side, 2 times on tail cap. Slammed light against concrete wall. Turned on light. Still worked.
The crush test really showed how well built the Sofirn SP33 is. The vehicle used is Toyota Sienna van. Ran over light 6 times. 2 times in drive completely running over light. 2 times in drive mode. 2 times in reverse mode. Ran over light on dirt road, paved cement, asphalt. Light still worked.
