Duel Headlamp: XP-E and COB

Any one has this headlamp? I ordered it for $5 coming form China.

I want to know if it has “next” mode and what size driver it has in case I want to change it to something from MTN.

Same light as an eBay China based seller for $4.73. https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Modes-USB-Rechargeable-XPE-COB-LED-Headlight-Straps-Adjustable-Torch-Headlamp-/192807024709?\_trksid=p2385738.m4383.l4275.c10 That listing has specifications for the light. It’s probably not a genuine CREE LED at this price. It looks to be a new design.

I have a couple of the 100 lumen COB headlamps that run on three AAA batteries and cost about what this one does. The big advantage of this headlamp is that few similar lights use one 18650 Li-ion battery. This is the first one I have come across.

I think the XP-E might be genuine since that’s a pretty outdated LED compares to what’s out now. Either way, I am planning to put a XP-G2 in there.

Just received this headlamp today. Swapped xp-e to xpg-2 l. Easy swap. No next mode memory. Need to cycle all 3 modes to turn off. PWM on low for both led is very visible. Not too bad.

Interesting. A COB for close and and LED for distance.
Looks like there is an 18650 in there.
But why oh why must we be plagued with the blinkys…

Any photos of the LED swap?
