Love the q8 but it broke on me. Any advice what to grab to replace it? Q8 is 60 bucks atm and I am seeing the SF68 which looks pretty good. Theres a preorder andural version which i think is just a better tint? Anything else to consider? Thabks!

It is torture to simply tell BLF that the ultimate repairable Q8 is “broke” and you consider another flashlight, without any attempt to fix it or even tell us what went wrong 
That’s what I thought. Just wanted to make sure. Good thing is his Q8 should be easily repairable.
Sofirn has all the parts you might need to repair that light for a fraction of the cost of a new one.

I paid $30 for my Q8 brand new!
It was running fine and then started ramping down. It was somewhat hot. I assumed batteries were going out but could have been thermal regulation. I put batteries in charger and they were only halfway depleted. I use q30s.
Put batteries back in. Dirst i noticed no green blink which indicates batteries loaded. Second i am used to a hard stop when screwing in the battery compartment and i get the blinky. Not noticing that. Flashlight is dead. No workie.
Check the O-Ring.
Wow this is odd. I was messing with it further and it came back to life! Works fine now.

I think it was the o ring twisted. I feel kind of dumb but happy. Guess now i have no excuse to get a 15000 lumen D18 or MT 09R or the like…

Check that your batteries are not touching the driver screws, are they button top?
Well you’re gonna have to break it again , then you can get a D18
I almost mentioned that. I did the same thing… if the o ring wasn’t seated properly, the light will not work…
I hope you broke your q8, so You can buy a d18. Just playing.

My d18 sst20 6500k do 14000 lumen with Sony vtc5a. 12000 lumen with the Samsung 30q.
Optics reflector are good. All the lumen are in one hot spot.
