Convoy H1 vs. Skilhunt HO3 comparative photos

Got these two headlamps from Gearbest, the Skilhunt H03 many, many months ago and recently the relatively new kid on the block, the Convoy H1.

Sorry guys, no beamshots at this time… to follow in the coming days

First comparison of the H1 I have seen so far, thanks for the review. Others have said that the Convoy is “too heavy” - would you concur with that observation? Compared to this or other headlamps ?
Thank you.

thanks. I am a huge Convoy fanboy, but the weight and features have to match. A headlight is something I would only buy once and it would have to be the right one.

GB spec says 75 gram, not 750 gram.

FYI, according to this comparison video, H1 weighs 70.7 gram:

EDIT: according to my own scale, H03 weighs 45.8g without battery and without the clip. 50g with the clip.

thanks for the additional information

the weight of the convoy h1 is 70 grams, the headband that comes next to the h1 18.8 grams and the battery that use panasonic ncr18650b unprotected 46 grams. and no, it does not feel heavy on the forehead, let’s not forget that skilhunt h03 has stepdawn and its lower weight makes it hotter, I prefer simplicity and better heat dissipation in front of thousands of lumens for 1 minute, it is not real skilhunt 1200 lumens, and little weight = instant heat, I have convoy s3 7135x6 xml2 u2 1a and I use it in turbo in cycling and I have no problems, but it heats up if you just walk around. better average level to walk …… ….I think that h1 is good to modify if you do not agree

I have tried so many “other” light solutions when fixing cars, but never actually had a headlight. The Convoy is in my preferred price range (below 25 $US), the weight seems acceptable on paper.

Gearbest say 1,40,388 and 1046 lumens , ¿not its true? Please verify this because I think the driver of the h1 is 2.5 amp and turbo level would approach its maximum power, is not it? ……. I would like to leave doubts and see the reality … my convoy h1 is neutral light 5000k and I think or it seems xml2 t6 3b at first glance but I’m not sure …., its tone is perfect for short and medium distance jobs (walk, run or fishing) but for cycling and see far better tone xml2 u2 1a for me more light in the distance. very close warm tone, medium distance neutral tone and greater distance cold tone …… that is my observation and more distance more and more light and that is achieved with cold light in the distance. Only I can think this

Important: the panasonic ncr18650b 69mm protected batteries, very tight, can break something, but I see a 0.9 cm spring in the controller, maybe very long and 0.4 or 0.5 mm can be cut to use protected batteries. the convoy s3 that spring is half the size and use protected, a little tight but not as much as h1

Wrong price category to compare. H1 must be compared to 15$ no name headlamps. Worst convoy creation IMHO.

Sorry, I stand corrected when I mis-interpreted the weights in fraction of a kilogram. :person_facepalming:

not as low as 15 but not as high as 25 …… what now appears in the box possibly 18-20 dollars. just simon change to better headband and turbo controlled by temperature or time and its price would be very good to 25 …… my humble opinion. the quality of the convoy material is very good and in the hand h1 it does not seem 15 dollars, illuminating either, you pay reliability . possible simon make changes to better, different leds, turbo controlled etc … but it is an unknown when it will, I can buy h1 and if I do not like it I can sell no problem. for now I am staying with h1 and I am going to sell another flashlight …… it would be very good if Simon would sell spare parts in his shop, even shorter tube, host etc ……. as he does with his other convoys … … if it does not, it would be quite rare … just as gearbest is the only h1 store available

Conspiracy theory: was the H1 meant to replace the Skilhunt H03?
Its cost roughly as much as the H03 did on sales last year.

Have you tried it with a Convoy S2 18350 tube?
