Freeme can you please send me a code i want a XHP50.2 FT03

I put a XHP50.2 into my FT03 its so much fun i got 4200 startup lumens and it sat at like 3950 for a bit it does heat up heaps quick. My lux reading was 174kcd that was teken from an average of 3 test at 5m and my LED isn’t even centered that great. Slice the dome you will be laughing!
Such a fun light.

Ill return this one to my stock SST40 with the sliced dome cause that has its place also.

Was it difficult to slice the dome? How much throw do you get after slicing? I want to slice mine but I’m afraid I’ll destroy the led lol

Sorry mate just seen this now. Dome slicing on flip chips LEDs is okay because you don’t have to worry about bonding wires. The LED inside my FT03 is not dedomend because i only bought 4 and have sliced 2 others already. Ill try and put a sliced XHP50.2 in there and see how it goes. The stock MCPCB is wide its 26mm i think so you can fit a washer around the LED easily enough and use that as guide for a straight cut. I’m not sure how low you can go but i used a 1mm thick washer and i went lower than that after.

I ordered the xhp50.2 version as well. Now I’m trying to decide which one to dedome.

My SST40 FT03 is dedomend i love it the FT03 throws awesome with it. If you slice the XHP50.2 you will definitely gain lux it will push it over 200kcd but do you want a beam that throwy? The stock FT03 with the XHP50.2 already throws so good. Out does my L6 and S70 by a large margin.
On another note Its good to see more preppers on here.

I ordered today the XHP-50.2, anyone knows the exact BIN and ANSI white tint of the 5700k led used? (I would love if it was 2A tint)

Now I have 2 FT-03’s the neutral SST-40 and the 5700k Cree. Not sure which one I will like the most, anyone knows if the issues with the wood grain texture of the copper MCPCB has been solved for this model? Some SST-40’s had that issue (I had to polish the MCPCB on that one)

Well, I was pleasantly suprised by the 50.2 in the FT03. I have quite a few lights and I will have to say this is my favorite light I’ve ordered this year. Throws really well and the spill is great. Best of both worlds so to speak. The price is what makes it so great. I ordered another one today. Really wish there was a warm white 50.2 3V. That would be the cherry on top for me. Still a fabulous light.
If you are debating getting one, do yourself a favor and grab one. I think you will really like this one.

Thanks freeme, excellent work. I greatly appreciate your help with the discount.

It is on sale at a great price now.

Did anyone measured the amps draw on this XHP50.2 variant?

We were estimating it would need to pull 14A-16A to do a real 4300 lumen OTF. Of course, it might actually measure a bit less of both. I don’t know if anyone has measured the 50.2 lumens or amp draw yet. I don’t think I’ve seen any of those reports. Maybe the light is still too new and not many people have recieved them yet.

I’m measuring around 14 Amps tailcap current on the FT03 XHP50.2 (using UT210E amp meter and a short piece of copper wire to form a loop around the tail tube).

Unfortunately I don’t have a way of measuring lumens. I have a basic lux meter which I can only measure some ceiling bounce lux measurements..

Sounds normal.
With a fully charged high drain battery they seem to draw about 8.5A-9.5A. It’s never exact with a FET driver.

Using the Sofirn 26650 HD battery I only get 3650 lumens at 30 seconds with the 5700K Tint

Unfortunately I don’t own anything better than a 30Q which performs roughly the same.

How do you measure it?

The same way you do with a TA Lumen Tube calibrated with Maukka lights. My lumen tube is within 2 lumens of both calibration lights

Okay, I can’t keep track of who uses what. (unless it’s in their sig)
