Comparison white wall shots of shaved LH351D 5000K in Wuben TO50R

Of course I didn’t think to get any shots of the TO50R before shaving the emitters :person_facepalming: but it was had a noticeably wider hotspot. Color balance was at 5000K IIRC except for the last shot (5500K there?). Various shutter speeds but 200 ISO for all I think. All output settings as equal as possible (~250 lumens) based on stock mode numbers for the lights except the PL47, which is my best guess (compared at “point blank” against a black surface with the TO50R which has the exact same optics) due to ramping UI.

There was definitely a change in tint between stock and shaved emitters, maybe only 200-300 degrees warmer but a noticeable shift toward the blackbody line. I took off roughly half the height of the dome.

I put one in a RRT-01 shaved as close as I could get. Shinning it on the wall, I really don’t notice any rosiness. But when you do the same thing comparing it to a non shaved 5000k or 4000k 351D, I can definitely see the rosiness in the beam, more so at the lower levels. With my eyes it resembles the 4000k more with a slight rosy tint when compared. Im guessing around 4300k. I like the 351D 90cri 5000k shaved. I pull out the RRT-01 and shine it on a wall just to look at it sometimes :person_facepalming: no amount of counseling will help.
Nice picks BurningPlaydoh. :+1:

Thanks for the demo, good job!
