Help me choose next throw flashlight.

I have been buying flood type lights until I bought a Astrolux FT03. I don’t even remember why I ordered it but wow I am really impressed. To be honest I even enjoy it more than my Imalant DX80.
So now I am looking at throwers for the first time.
I don’t want something too big the DX80 is a pain to carry around so something like the BLF GT is not an option.
The Astrolux MF04 looks like an option but I think it may be too big to carry around because of the large head size.
So am thinking Astrolux MF02(maybe do a Lexel driver swop and carrier mod)
Any other suggestions will be most appreciated.

Thrunite TN40S is an amazing thrower without sacrificing output compared to single XHP35 HI lights. TN42 throws even better but I find pencil beam with low lumens isn’t as useful in many real life scenarios. I sold my acebeam K70 because I preferred the beam of my convoy L6 or nitecore TM16GT more in the outdoors.

Flashlights with large reflectors usually produce a weak spill which can be irritating for close and medium range applications, it all depends on what you’re looking for.

The best single cell compact thrower IMO is the Acebeam T27, you get decent output for the size, long runtimes, 1km+ throw and very practical in-light charging.

Get the BLF Lumintop Micro! Its also a lot of fun because it is soo small.

Could you tell us a little more about what you mean by “too big”. Battery size and weight is an issue for some, while head size or length is an issue for others”. How about price, is there a price limit?

I totally agree. It’s a great size for K9 SAR work.

I feel the 8 x 18650 makes the light to heavy and also to long to carry in a backpack. The headsize of Astrolux MF04 also looks like it will a problem in backpack.

How about emisar D1S, if you mod it with osram white flat, the throw can be about 1Km

Which online vendors would you recommend to purchase Thrunite products? My first choice is normally Bangoods because of their excellent delivery service for me here at the tip of Africa.

I would try HKE first.

I heard they have a significant discount on the TN40S:
