Got my W30 today. Have to say it’s not quite what I was expecting, in some ways worse and in some better.

1. It is not bright at all. There are better lights for bouncing off a ceiling or white wall to light up a room or tent.
2. It feels extremely high quality and is a little bigger and heavier than I thought.
3. When they say no spill they really mean it. This light produces the cleanest most perfect beam I have ever seen.
4. Compared to a normal flashlight like theTN40, the lack of spill helps keep your pupils from constricting, thus it’s extreme throw is greatly enhanced. There is less spill on this less than from professional dedicated throwers like the Maxabeam or the Nighthunter 1.
5. The reflection off a white wall up close is blindingly intense.
6. The beam is so tightly focused that it is mostly useless for what I would estimate to be 800ft and closer. About 900ft and beyond the beams width starts to become a bit more useful.
7. Even out to a full 1/4 mile the beam never seems to get any dimmer.

Well those are just my initial subjective impressions. Hopefully it won’t be raining tomorrow and I can go out and get some exact measurements with my lux meter, and some good beams shots.

Thanks for the impression. It will be cool to have some hands-on luxmeter measurements.

Did you get the CW? Im still waiting for some info on the 4000k and HI CRI. I sent Acebeam an email inquiry but no response.

I can’t help laugh even with such throw. Just 500 lumens for that much throw, i reckon the whole 500lm or most of it would be absorbed by the air and you wouldn’t see anything even at 1km.

That’s not how it works.
If you have 2 lights with 1 km throw, one with 500 lumens and another with 20 000, both would light up the target (any target at any distance) just as brightly. It’s just that one would produce a wider beam than the other.

Thanks that looks wonderful! Wonder if there will be a sale on July 04. Really like the HI CRI beam. Should be able to cut through the atmosphere and allow our eyes to see more detail in the distance.

“Cut through the atmosphere”, eh?

Naw, the next step with this light would/should be…

ordered one and will be putting a video or two up on youtube on this thing soon. Suppose to be hear the 21st of this month. Only real thrower I have left is the TN42 so will most likely compare. I have a couple lux meters and will try to do the calculation of throw and lux @ 4 meters away. Also have the sphere and curious if it will give an accurate reading for lumens.

Someday I'll invent something worthwhile

My Lux meter has always read lower than everyone elses. Not sure mine is right. Anyway I measured my W30 at 100ft and got 1.04million lux. I kinda feel like the number is bit too low.

Just watched your review on your YouTube channel. Great review! The w30 is a beast of a thrower.

Can someone tell me the beam size at some distance, for example 100 yds? My calculations keep saying around ten feet at that distance, but the videos I’ve seen make it seem tighter than that. Thanks for the help.

I watched your video on youtube. Great review as always. I like how you show what the light looks light being shot back at the camera from a distance. Pretty crazy. Makes me think of this video I saw of a cop shining his light in a guys face. The cop was being rude for no reason. The guy then took out a much more powerful flashlight and shined the cop in the face. The cop backed off and put his flashlight away. It probably would have ended differently if this light was shown in the cops face though. Its almost assault level of brightness.

Anyone know if Acebeam has shipped the high cri w30 version? I really want to see a beam shot, especially after seeing the linked w10 high cri shots, perfect tint imo. Would there be a perceived (or real) difference in throw compared to CW? Cuts atmosphere better yet appearing less intense? The light saber look of w30 beamshots Ive seen in CW are very appealing.

I know I dont need this, but damn I want one bad. Wheres best place to buy? And where when high cri is available?

Thanks guys for any information you can provide.

I felt this way about every expensive light I’ve bought. Lol

I’m feeling it again for this one. Trying hard to resist. Hi Cri availability might be the final straw.

Good eye jericho!! I desperately want to see a comparison of beam shots in the field, though I think my mind is made up. And they’ll squeeze me for the premium CRI charge too! Smile

I’ve seen the coupon code in the advertisement on this website. I think it might just be “BLF”.

Welp, got the 6500K shipping out for however long it’ll take HKEquipment to ship it. Good looks on that code SKV89 much appreciated.

Will post extremely sub-par pics soon as I get some play time with it (because I am no night-photo expert)

Once again, BLF is the bee’s knees

Yep! And you are going to have actually more throw than you can use with that thing! Seriously!

Actually the intended use would be to get Simon’s attention in China regarding my order status on AliExpress while never having to leave New Jersey Silly
