Run Anduril on the Amutorch AT40?

I bought a couple of AT40s. I would like to mod them so I can have a moonlight mode.

How should I approach this (having never modded a light before)?

Which driver chips are compatible with Anduril?

I bought the hardware to flash Anduril and I’m comfortable making modifications.

If this project works out, I will post updates here.

Anduril is an e-switch based FW, the AT40 is a clicky (power cycle) light. Anduril simply can’t run without the electronic switch.

You still have options though, I’ve built a few AT40’s with bistro on TA drivers.

Bistro looks like it would work for my goals given the optional moon mode.

From ~toykeeper/flashlight-firmware/trunk : contents of ToyKeeper/bistro/bistro.txt at revision 250 I saw this:

Would I be right to assume that the “first mode” here, with moon enabled, would be moon mode itself?

Recommendations on where to purchase such a driver?

Yes that’s correct, moon mode first with memory disabled.

Bistro drivers are commonly sold at the Chinese shops as the “X6 driver” but that’s only FET+1 (not FET+bank+1) and is 17mm, you need a 22ish mm driver (that you can sand down to about 21.6mm). Lexel will have something for you but there may be other sources too, perhaps mountain electronics.
