The distance to the house is probably around 100 feet. You can see how the FT03 is so bright it washes out the wall! Yes, the Convoy looks a little better at that range, due to being less powerful.
This thing is silly bright.
And with the AWT battery it gets silly hot.

Minaret. What minaret? (Spire sticking above roof? Picture below must
be that of the L6.)

Looking at the proper picture, the FT03 does show a deeper
throw than the L6 ( was confused with the labeling ). I believe.

Thank you, @scosgt!

PS Had thought minarets only exists in Muslim Middle East, or Turkey. LOL

Where does one get one of these high faluten Lumens fire sticks (with XHP-50.2)? The 21st Century, just moving along!

Looking at the “washed out” upstairs walls on the house.
The Astrolux beam will throw a fair bit further than the L6.

Quite an impressive light for under $35. I bought 2 of the SST-40’s in 5000K and 2 of the 50.2’s also. The 50.2’s are awesome. I actually just bought another one in 5700K.

I admit, the FT03 is a very nice budget light, with great specs, but if bought 5 Astroulux FT03’s i would have to come up with a VERY GOOD excuse to my wife Wink

Every shop where they sell flashlights, i walk into the lights section, and my wife says, “like you don’t have a flashlight yet … “

How did you get this light for $33? Did you need a coupon? I see it selling for $49 on Bangood.

Yes, for almost every light there is a coupon, or otherwise a 9% discount for BLF members when using banggood ( was it 4BLF ?)
Coupons can be found on the forum or from M4DM4X

Edit, the banner on top just showed a FT03 for 31,99 now, when using code AFT03

The top pic is the L6. You can tell by how the FT03 washes out the front/roof.

That is the view from the front of my house. The minaret is the mosque on the next street. They also own three houses on my block. It is what it is. But frankly, they are better neighbors than the turd next door to me that they bought out.

There was a sale that ended 7/19 I think. I bought two, still waiting on one.

Check out the bottom pic. $25.99 Chaselight from Amazon. The throw rivals the L6 and the FT03. It takes 2 × 26650 to do it, but they come with the light. It has a nice white color output.

Wonder how that compares with, say, a P30 and/or GTmini…

Or a Cometa, for that matter.

I just found this coupon which gets the price down to about $36. BGFT03X
Now my only problem is I can’t decide whether to buy the 50.2 or the SW40 which is also available in CW version for the same price. If it was NW it would be a no brainer. Anybody have a suggestion?

I went with the HP50. Rated for higher light output.

I bought both in the flash sales, and so far the sst40 has shown up, and it’s damn impressive.
plenty of useable spill (for me) and it’s a pretty nice thrower, nice sized hotspot in the longer distances. I’ll need to take it out soon and actually test it for the main reason i bought it – rabbit/fox hunting on my parents property, rather than terrorizing my neighbors haha Not sure if i even needed the 50.2 but we’ll see when it gets here (The longer turbo times will be better for me than the extra output, but i’ll hold off until i actually get to use both)

Which version? Might be it’s limited to the SST40 only

Thought dawn was just breaking in your last picture,
with the Chaselight. LOL

Pretty bright (can make out “Hamza-3”, and “Hamza-4”, in your original picture).

Lights up the background house (seems they may just have turned their house lights on, Dawn?) , like the FT03, in Turbo.

Nice price/prize!

Coupon Code for Chaselight?

Why? Just why are you enabling another flashlight purchase? I purchased a few recently and I really don’t need another right now. Why must you do this?

I get that all the time. They will make great gifts at the price I got them for. I will wind up keeping 1 of each. Maybe both of the 5000K SST-40’s just because the emitter is so hard to get.

Try this code:BGFT03X
It works for me but only on the XPL 50. You’ll get it for $36.

180 degrees off LOL. It was just after sunset.
No one lives in the houses, so no lights were just turned on or off.
You want a coupon for a $25 light?

Any Canadians have any suggestions on where to source 26650 batteries for this light? I’m new to this whole flashlight world and would appreciate some pro tips!! Thanks!

The Q8 and SP36 are actually brighter, have better build quality, and especially on the Q8, much higher thermal mass and much better thermal dissipation.

The meter may say so, my eyes disagree.
Since those are both more flood than thrower, they may indeed put out “more light”.
But in my actual testing, they don’t hold a candle to the FT03.

You may be right there, but please do not forget some important aspects, like bluesword already mentioned

The FT03 is a nice light, but hes very little thermall mass, so it will heat up fast and thus loose lumen output.
It will drain your batteries quite fast, so again you loose lumen output
The Q8, Sp36 both give you stock more lumens, but due to the small reflectors, they beam output is way different.

The XHP70 L6 will do stock about 3800 Lm which is almost the same as the XHP50.2 in the FT03, but as said it has more thermall mass so longer time to heat up and thus longer higher runtimes.
And yes, i did a resistor mod (R120) om my L6, and you can definitely see the difference, it will boost a 500Lm or so

So please reconsider your thoughts Wink

I know English is not your first language, so no offense taken. But no, I will not reconsider my thoughts. They are mine and I am entitled to keep them.

You can have an opinion on what is more useful/impressive to you but it is hard fact that those other lights put out more light and exceed the FT03 in other areas. For a high power thrower the FT03 is an almost unbeatable value though, the only real competition being the Catapult V6 IMO (boost driver and some other advantages, but less throw for a higher price).

Personally I rarely have use for a dedicated thrower and have put frosted lenses or diffusion film on my big-lumen lights, still plenty of range due to the sheer output. Just different tools for different jobs! Thumbs Up
