All GONE

I have about 20 or so UV LEDs I would like to give someone in the USA. You can keep them all or dish them out to the group. They are all 395nm, but VERY high power. About 4x what you get from a 3535 luminus LED. These are “used” because I put them into a project and then found out I made a mistake and had to remove them. It is absolutely critical that you wear eye protection at all times when using these. They are not toys or “black lights”. I use UVEX orange colored glasses. Clear polycarb will NOT protect from 395 nm.

LOL!! Close…. Actually putting them in lights that had insufficient heat sinking and then driving them like they were CREE emitter.

Are they mounted on stars?

Do you have the model number for these LEDs?

Most of them are on 16mm mcpcbs. They were pulled from a build so you would need to sand epoxy from the bottom of the mcpcbs. There are a handful that are bare. There is no modle number, these were made for me by a manufacture. They are not a brand.

So, how much heat sinking do they need, and how much current can they take? Also, what is the physical size? I will be happy to take them off your hands if nobody else wants them.

Sounds like an interesting project and it’s another excuse to use my Uvex Orange glasses.

They have an XML foot print. You can drive them to 2000 ma with descent heat sinking. 2500ma with SUPER heat sinking.

vob indicated above that these are far too powerful to be used as a display. They would be dangerous to your eyes. :cowboy_hat_face:

Something tells me these are more than one would need to set UV glue… Sound like fun.

I’d like one or two but didn’t claim them cause that’s all I’d ever use and don’t want to take them away from anyone else.

Whoever gets them, I’d cover shippinv for one after you’ve got them from VOB if you’re willing to share.

Protective glass over the front of the LED’s, but yeah that’s why it would be jenky

Everyone who sent an address has emitters on the way. I still have some more ( there were lots $$:money_mouth_face: so if anyone else wants some message me your address.

These will make a great illuminator for my full spectrum camera. Will need to get a filter for 395 now.
