WTS extra LEDs: XP-L, Luxeon V2, Luxeon MZ, SST-20, SST-40, XHP35

As some of you know I bought a bunch of LH351D from Digi-Key to test, the 3500K turned out to be the best so I ordered 100 more of that to get a cheaper price. I don’t need 100 of these so i’m going to sell around ~75 of them to recoup the costs. Along with that I might as well put up the handful of other LEDs in my parts box in case someone wants to add on to their order (first come first serve). Some of the smaller quantity LEDs could have solder on them but were only used for testing. If this bothers you I can confirm which do and do not.

Shipping is $7 and will be priority flat rate. Payment via PayPal with goods & services is fine, i’ll eat the fees.

LH351D 3500K 90CRI UPP6 bin test here and here
$2.50/ea (10+ $2.25/ea) not taking any more orders for this. If it looks like buying another 100 makes sense I will collect INTEREST only and buy at that point

L1V2 4000K 70CRI – $1.60/ea (Qty 15 11)
L1V2 5000K 70CRI – $1.60/ea (Qty 14 10)

Luxeon MZ 5700K 90CRI 3V – $5.00/ea (Qty 3 2) – pulled from light
Luxeon MZ 3000K 90CRI 3V – $5.00/ea (Qty 2 1) – pulled from light

XP-L HD V6 3D – $2.50/ea (Qty 4)

XP-L HI 1A 6500K – $3.00/ea (Qty 3) – pulled from FW3A

SST-20 4000K – $1.50/ea (Qty 11) – from Emisar D18 unknown bin, tested here similar to FD2

SST-20 6500K – $1.25/ea (Qty 4) – pulled from D4v2

LH351D 90CRI 5000K dog fart, sliced (between 4000K-4500K after) – $3.25/ea (Qty 4) -

XHP35 HI 3C – $5 (Qty 1) – high flux bin from Lexel

SST-40 N4 6500K on 10mm copper MCPCB – $6 (Qty 1)

SST-40 N4 6500K sliced (not super low but still throwy, Qty 1) – $4, with 20mm MCPCB $6

I may list a few of these if there is interest:

XP-L HI if I can find them, unknown NW/CW
LH351D 3000K 90CRI x??
LH351D 5000K 80CRI x??
SST-20 3000K x2
SST-20 3500K x??
SST-20 5000K x1

post your interest in thread and I will verify quantities of the ones that i’m unsure about and total it up for you

Interested in 4 of these LH351D 3500K 90CRI and 4 of these LH351D 90CRI 5000K dog fart, sliced (between 4000K-4500K after) – $3.25/ea. I am going to try the shaved in the FW3A.

Also add L1V2 4000K 70CRI – $1.60/ea x 4
and 4 of the 5000k as well.

Noted & reserving the sliced ones for you.

Here was my FW3A with same mod:

And my comments from mod thread:

Quote:
It ends up around 2,400 lumens with a ~4.05V VTC6

After slicing and using a 10511 optic:

CCT is between 3978K and 4130K regulated and 4371K turbo (FET)

Duv is between -0.0015 and -0.0007 regulated and -0.0006 turbo (FET)

The hot spot is larger and more “even” than an SST-20 but less intense. A little more intense than 219 in a clear narrow optic I guess?

It’s kind of nice how it tracks a bit warmer and lower Duv at the lowest modes and gets a bit cooler and very close to BBL at higher modes.

I have done regular letter to outside the USA twice with MT-G2 both times. If you pad it just right, it can be done. The most important rule is that it can’t have any part of it that is thicker than 1/4” but I’m not sure how accurately they measure that. What I did was put the MT-G2 dome through a hole in a small section of corrugated cardboard, then put another piece of cardboard over it to protect it, then put the whole thing in the envelope. It shipped fine both times for international letter rate, which was just a few dollars.

EDIT: I have also received letter rate “packages” of LEDs just taped between two index cards.

I’ll give it a shot like that. AEDe shipped his LEDs to me in the same way you describe and I’ve received things from Lexel in a similar way.

Thanks guys for your efforts, much appreciated. It should work like this, I’m expecting also LEDs from azhu who sent it already this way to me. Anyway, I take the risk if lost in transit.

The 3500K LEDs arrived and I picked 3 from the middle, I put them in a brand new FW3A for a more real world test:

I’m comparing it to a SST-20 FW3A with a UCL lens (so best case no green AR coating skew). I chose this because a lot of people should have this light and many comments say it’s generally a good LED.

FW3A LH351D 3500K (Lumintop Optic)
CCT = 3518K (Duv 0.0022) – 3rd step
CCT = 3561K (Duv 0.0017) – max 7135
CCT = 3583K (Duv -0.0011) – turbo

FW3A SST-20 (UCL glass, 10511)
CCT = 3868K (Duv 0.0021) – 3rd step
CCT = 3985K (Duv 0.0017) – max 7135
CCT = 3902K (Duv -0.0004) – turbo

This actually surprised me a little. I didn’t expect the LH351D to get so low in DUV with the higher amps. I only tested up to 1.5A in my previous test so did not know for sure. In summary, it’s slightly above Duv with the 7135’s and gets even more “rosy” looking than the SST-20 on turbo. Of course the LH351D is 300-400K CCT warmer.

Any idea how the output of the two FW3A’s at max 7135 compares?

Will test this later tonight and get back to you. I also ordered a few of Digi-Key’s 5000K 90CRI (dog farts) since all mine were from Arrow it turned out. I have those to test as well.

SST-20 ~700
LH351D ~815

It’s actually kind of hard to measure cause these things step down before it even settles down. Also the SST-20 has UCL lens vs the Lumintop optic so add/subtract a few more percent there

Thanks for the output numbers, the difference is not enormous when regulated at the same current. But I like that 3500K so I’m sure that the leds that I will get from you will end up somewhere nice Smile

All orders shipped, still have more LEDs. Maybe 35 or 40 left of the 3500K

If anyone is feeling adventurous here is what the LEDs do when sliced:

S2+ light OP reflector, low to high (5-6A):

CCT = 3215K (Duv -0.0001)
CCT = 3247K (Duv -0.0002)
CCT = 3288K (Duv -0.0007)
CCT = 3332K (Duv -0.0030)

That is not much CCT shift. They do land nicely on top of the BBL Smile

Just curious has anyone tested how shaving affects the amount of blue light output? I’m guessing since you are only cutting off the transparent silicone and not really removing the phosphor, the amount of blue light emitted shouldn’t change much but just wonder if anyone knows.

The domed shape of silicone is essential for the function, makes sure that as many as possible photons hit the surface close to perpendicular to it, so that internal reflection is minimised and thus photon extraction maximised.

When the dome is shaved off, the surface is flat and much more internal reflection occurs, photon extraction decreases, and also more photons have an extra chance of hitting the phosfor. Especially the blue photons are absorbed by the phosfor and converted to photons of longer wavelength.

The result is that overall a bit less light exits the led, a reduction of the blue peak and increase of green and red.

I installed the LH351D 3500k this past weekend in one of the FW3A’s I have and I must say this is a really nice led. Even with a narrow optic, the beam is a little wide. It adds a wonderful warm glow to everything and really is nice in the outdoors.

I’m going to reserve the remaining 3500K LEDs for my own stash and one last potential buyer.

If people still want more you can certainly post your interest here and I may buy another 100x if there is demand but it seems like people are not so interested in LH351D compared to 5 year old 219B LED, lol. Alternatively, US buyers can buy from DigiKey for the higher cost per LED+shipping. Wasn’t out to make money just wanted more people to try a good LED Smile

The other random LEDs are still available and I am willing to do envelope shipping world wide.

Can I still buy some of the 3500K LH351D LED’s? Maybe 10x? I don’t mind paying more for international shipping. I think I paid around $13 the few times I bought LED’s from azhu.

Give me until mid/end of coming week to gauge interest and see what last buyer wants. I also want to make sure more of my international packages arrive just in case.
