I copied over my test results that I posted here on BLF to CPF, which I think is useful test data that many would be interested in seeing. CPF thinks I’m “a person who poses as a customer in order to decoy others into participating and/or one who publicizes or praises something or someone for reasons of self-interest or personal profit” :disappointed:
My battery test results were entirely unbiased and I get zero compensation from Shockli or any other manufacturer for all the products I tested.
For those of you who know me here, I constantly share my test results and findings on all kinds of flashlight related products. I can’t believe CPF would just delete my post and ban me without warning. No wonder why there’s so little activity at their forum.
I’m willing to bet they don’t even know that BLF exist and is overall a better forum than BLF.
They don’t know the kind of contributions you’ve done on behalf of multiple members.
Actually, I think the reason they banned you is that you mentioned BLF, and so, they don’t like it when a BLF member is actually useful and brings some traffic to their website.

There has been a long hate over there for over here to the point it’s known if they find out you are a member of both forums they will find any excuse to do something.
Frankly there is a reason I haven’t logged in over there for so long I don’t even remember my password.
They are probably too busy signing people up for all the CPF member collaborated flashlights.

They are the losers SK. BlF is lucky to have you and they are the ones who are worse off.
I constantly had issues with Virgil and Alaric in the automotive sections. Seems like they stick to that subforum only, constantly editing or deleting members posts with no PM as to why. When you publicly try to call them out on it they will delete your post again and reply with a post that will rival War and Peace and turn your words around and make it sound like you are totally in the wrong. I do go to CPF occasionally but never to that subforum. I’ve PMed Greta about it with absolutely NO response. Pretty much all the mods over there are over the top ego maniacs.
The biggest thing that used to get me upset was when someone asked about hid/led retrofits. While physically possible(but maybe illegal in certain states) their response was always “NO, DON’T DO IT OR YOU WILL UPSET THE BALANCE OF THE WORLD AND IT WILL IMPLODE ITSELF.” or “NOPE, NOT POSSIBLE IN ANY WAY, SHAPE OR FORM.” or “NOT POSSIBLE AND IF YOU TRY YOUR MOTHER WILL DIE IN HER SLEEP FROM YOUR STUPIDITY.”
They belittle the user and make them feel guilty or stupid because they asked a simple question.
The mods said it would be 1 month long. Personally I really like the temporary ban system. Gives hot heads a chance to cool off and not have their entire account history blown away because of a grumpy day.
On certain forums, two kinds of behaviour are a deadly sin.
The first being a seller without paying a sellers fee. They have decided you are acting like a seller.
Because you don’t pay the fee you have to stop the activity at hand. And if you don’t, they will step in.
On the other hand, if you pay the fee, it is quite possible they step in on behalf of you.
Like when you claim you are a Canadian manufacturer, with some manufacturing operations in China.
While the only Canadian thing about you was a postal adress. In a residential area.
This seller/manufacturer did not even have to make up his own lame excuse. Because the mod’s stepped in.
The second one is starting an argument about any decision of the mod’s. AKA questioning their authority
If they have decided you are a seller, you are a seller. Or a shill. How dare you contradict that.
The bare fact of public disagreement with a mod is cause for an immediate ban. On certain forums.
I remember I got warning from the CPF for doing nothing, 3 years ago. ask skylumen54… he knows. All my posts are good and nothing bad… they deleted my posts and notify skylumen.
Most of the reasons people leave CPF for BLF, can be attributed to the owner, who goes by the alias "Greta" (not her real name). Many people have complained about the moderators, but that's ultimately the responsibility of Greta.
Over a year ago, she blew up on me for merely asking a question about a server update (which is why I left).
When I first joined CPF about two years ago, I noticed something disturbing. ANYONE who DARED to ask why their servers were so slow, would immediately be shamed by one of the moderators, who would try and convince you it was a problem on your end.
What you see at this link (not about me) is not some one-time melt-down by Greta, it happens all too often.
Just a quick note… while CPF has indeed been on a downward trend for the past 13 years, BLF is not actually growing. And I suspect part of the reason it hasn’t been growing is because of excessively negative threads like this one. Poor moderation may encourage people to leave, but so does aggressive dog-piling and name-calling. Toxic is toxic, regardless of which form it takes… so let’s not be.
