(Beamshots review) IMALENT MS18

Today is a Beamshots video of the IMALENT MS18, a 100,000 lumen Beast of a flashlight that blows away any other flashlight in existence in sheer light output. We took this flashlight to many places to try to get the best shots possible for you guys to truly understand how bright this flashlight actually is. This flashlight puts out 100,000 lumens along with 450,000 candela, it has a built-in battery pack as well as active cooling to keep down the extreme temperatures that would arise if you didn’t correctly cool 18 XHP 70.2 LEDs running at full bore. I hope you guys enjoy and stay tuned for more videos like this!

Good video too show the outout… but i would be afraid playing too much with such monster to attrack law enforcement and unwanted attention but looks like u avoided that

nice video, thanks!

Thank you for posting your valuable video beamshots. Please tell us more about your impressions. Please tell us about how the actual brightness compares to the brightness that the video camera shows.
I am thinking about getting this light to go with my R90TS, but I have not seen much print from users after they got this light.

Again, Thank you!

Thanks for the beamshots. I can hear the fan noise changed a bit between 60k lumens and 100k lumens.
And it looks like 60k lumens and 100k lumens have not much obvious difference. I wonder will it be better to use 60k instead to preserve LED life and brightness.

More will come, I am going to make a comprehensive review on the light itself, I usually put the beamshots and the review together but I think this light deserved its own separate video for beamshots because it’s so amazing. The pictures are VERY close to reality but the video camera doesn’t really do it enough as it looks MUCH brighter in real life. Stay tuned

I noticed that as well but I just tested it out now and the change is more noticeable in real life, for some reason the camera didn’t pick up the change enough but it’s definitely worth going full 100k over keeping at 60k to preserve life, even if the6 do die on me I will just refloat new ones on

Haha yes people seem to not care where I live, I haven’t got any complaints and I’ve used it alot lately. And thanks!

Thank YOU!

hey mikey ? more beam videos

Good to know.

I used my high output lights mostly on Turbo, for example MT03. This MS18 gets me worried because its Turbo is really “extreme” that it draws 30+A from battery and 18 LEDs are all in direct drive generating a lot of heat. That is why I am wondering maybe 60k lumens are good enough since I am close to getting one MS18W.

Surprise surprise surprise. My MS18W reached me just now. I have played with it for half hour now. What a beast! It is crazy light.
Its 60k is real. I did celling BOUNCE comparing with MT03 TA that gets very very hot in 60seconds , it was 277 vs 1327(startup) 1177(10s). So it is about 4+ times brighter than MT03 TA. But MT03 TA has been on Turbo for quite a lot of time, so it might have faded more.
Its head gets quite hot after 10s on 60k lumens, after switching it off, I enabled the fan and it really blow out hot air from one side until becoming warm air for about one minute.
I did not try the Turbo yet. Most likely I will stick to 60k lumens for some time first. 60k is already extreme in my view.

Battery voltage measurement is accurate, my DMM measure 16.28 while it measures 16.25.

One thing I notice is some burning smell when I switch on fan to cool down very hot head. Do you happen to notice this too? Wonder is it because of my light is still new and something is not fully dried yet.

yes its normal, its just burning in the oils and such left on the heatsink and other parts, no need to worry unless you notice the light not working properly

Which CCT did you have in the MT03 TA? How do you like the tint on the MS18W? Is it green in any way? I’m considering getting this light for Black Friday but hope the tint is good and is not much dimmer than the CW version.

Both my MT03 TA are neutral white version. I only use the MS18W 60k lumen mode outdoor, I like the tint since it is not cool white. But I think indoor there should be some greenish if using lower mode, but I didn’t use it indoor much.
I think the brightness is bright enough, I have been using 60k lumen all the time after comparing with 100k lumen mode, it is Obviously brighter in 100k lumens mode but not so much and it heats up too fast.

60k lumens mode also heat up very fast. I carefully use it for 1 minutes, then rest for 20 minutes, and use it for 1 minutes again. Repeat for a few times each night. It is not a useful light for my way of usage. Just for fun.

I see. Thanks. I’m still debating which version to get. 5000K might be dimmer and some green. 6500K might not be so bad for a high output light. I have the X80-GT and the 6500K is actually very acceptable

No problem.

I think it depends on site you use to go. I use it mainly on trees and grasses, so NW is better choice in my case.
If I were to use it on big buildings or structures like a dam, then CW will be better choice.

Hello guys seeking for help. My imalent ms18 goes crazy it switches from mode to mode without touching it and sometimes it doesn’t work. Any answer please?

That doesn’t sound normal… I just got mine from Imalent and (so far) it functions perfectly. I have noticed that when I have it hanging from the strap on my shoulder one of the vents rests against my hip which kind of blocks the cooling air flow. Very small detail though. Incredible amount of light
