So can NE1 tell if they are still around and kicking? Just curious. Haven't seen any mention in recent years. Has everyone discarded either of them for good?
Imho TrustFire was a bit better then UltraFire. But the original UltraFire flashlights were good too. Problem was that too many UltraFire fakes were around and it was hard to tell if an UltraFire-labeled flashlight was an original UltraFire design because the UltraFire official website
I keep on coming back to UF HS-802. Often I get a piece without any brand marked on it. I’m suspecting, UF might be just branding flashlights with his logo.
I have an UltraFire C8 that I paid something like $7 or $8 for (with “”“”“4200mah”“”“” battery, yeah right, it’s not even 1/4 that) that has smoother threads than most $30-$60 lights I’ve owned. And I have a bunch of those single-mode 1xAA zoomies that I bought 6 for $13 a couple years ago. Great loaner lights, and also extremely smooth threads. Their batteries need no introduction (and deserve no use), but all of the UF lights I’ve owned have had remarkably good build quality given their price point.
I’ve got an oooold Ultrafire. Pre the Copies.
Was Q8. I put a XM-l plug in there. quite a nice work torch.
Well made and still going after ? how long.
One of my first ever proper torch after the “Zoomies”.
My old ’502 is still going strong. Solidly built, nice ano (no noticeable wear despite EDCing it for years), no glitches in the switch yet, 1-mode 1.something amp drop-in, glassy-smooth threads, really nicely done.
Shudder to think how crappy new copies might be made nowadays.
