How to kill a bug ?

Question is ...

How do you kill a bug with a flashlight ?

With a lot of flashlights, you can claim it's not a bug--it's a feature.

I’m not proud, but it can be done with any hot-rod. My L6 has gotten a few spiders hotter than their bodies function well at…

My trick is to blind flies with a bunch of lumens so they don't see it coming and decide to take off before the hammer falls .

Works every time !

Flashlight in one hand.... and a flyswatter in the other .

Uhhh, how big of a bug?

flashlight or salt. good idea.

Yeah I was curious about lasers too .

I have some gum remover spray that is meant to harden gum so you can remove it from carpet . Most bugs seem impervious to it though . It's made of propane ,butane and ethyl alcohol. I bought a bunch of it cheaply(.50$) knowing that a can of it and a Bic lighter is going to be more fun than a persons supposed to legally have .I was kind of impressed that a freezing alcohol bath didn't have much effect on them ....Maybe that's why they've been around so long /or why we created DDT, handguns or anti -biotics .

Anything for skeeters? I’m like sugar to them…

They don’t glow under UV, so they’re not easily spotted that way.

With any light, the ones that sneak up on me seem to be able to phase into hyperspace at will. I’ll see one, have it lit brightly in midair, see its shadow on the wall, then… nothing. Just disappears.

MH20, Cometa, no difference. Wide field of light, and they just disappear.

My electronical tennis-racquet fly-zapper stopped zapping (even though the red LED goes on when triggered), so I can’t whack them and zap them dead, only seem to bat them around in the air which they later take out on me with more fiendish biting.

So good ol’ Raid to the rescue. Gas the living crap outta them… IF I see them.

I attract small insects/flies/mosquitoes (maybe not bugs…) with the UV light and when they are near the flashlight, I turn a white ligh ON and then I obliterate them with whatever I have at hand :stuck_out_tongue:

I was with a friend at the good will when he picked up one of those for like 2 bucks .

Looked them up online and was a bit sad to see they wanted $40.00 for them .Seems a major assault to my bank account .

I keep thinking some pre-pumped up reverse pop gun that just sucks them up off the wall and then spits them back out when you go outside may be a cool way to go . No murder ,death ,kill ...and quick and simpler than breaking out the vacuum cleaner .

Maybe attaching a tacticool light on top too .

Flashlight ? I don’t think so, but some Chinese 500mw 18650 powered laser will be good enough :smiling_imp:

The BEST way…. :sunglasses: :+1:

We have flying insects that look like small wasps, are quite annoying, and are attracted to light.

So I point my flashlight at the floor, and when they land on the lit floor, I stomp on them with my shoe.

Easy kill.

harbor freight racquet with bleeder resistor clipped, powered by an 18650,and as big and many hv caps as i can fit in the handle.
hearing protection may be required.
i have one here that will blow a wasp to bits and ring your ears.

Phased-plasma rifle in the 40W range…

That I can use…

Oh, great, she eats gagh

not sure it’s safe to eat mosquitoes unless you know the blood type they be feeding on? :confounded:

NF’ingQ those were commercially grown and environmentally sourced.
Quite another effort to stomach local field caught specimens!
