SST-20 in AAA

Is anybody making keychain aaa lights with sst-20 leds yet? Just swapped my cold white xpg2 for a 95cri sst-20 in a stainless worm (reflow emitter swap, had issues switching mcpcbs) and I’m loving it. Bright as my xpl thrunite ti and creamy high cri quality. Plus it still retains the beam profile of the xpg2. I’m seeing a lot of xpg and nichia options in aaa but who’s gonna do sst20??

Other than sofirn if they ever get around to releasing their low mode first c01s!

Doesn’t the C01S use SST-20?

Hearsay: Sofirn needs to sell their existing lights before releasing updated models.

But honestly, with so many products in the pipeline I don’t believe it. However, hi – lo is perfectly fine with me. Lots of keychain lights only have hi mode.

I have been tempted to drop the 4000k FD2 in a copper tool to test it out. To far back on the list so far.

The right LH351D yes, the wrong one… way to green. I think the SST-20 would be great in a tiny reflector, it tends to be really throwy in a small midsize reflector, so I think the small reflector may help it out. It is a pretty small point of light with the tiny die.

EDC rotation:
FW1A, LH351D 4000k (second favorite)
FW3A, LH351D 3500k
FW3A, SST20 FD2 4000k
FW3A, Nichia 4000k sw40 r9080 (favorite light!)
FW3A, Cree XP-L Hi 5A3
Emisar D4V2, SST20 4000k
S2+, XM-L2 T6 4C

Well, good. Quite warm and even beam. No psychedelic colors to fret over.

C01S is an amazing little light for its size. I love the 4000K SST-20, and it has a good balance of throw and flood for a little EDC light.

Supposed to be a 4000k off Ali express. Not sure how much variance there is in the ten pack but this one in particular shows minimal green and feels warmer than 4000k to me. I’ll see about putting together some beam shots of I ever have some spare quiet time to myself. Would be nice to compare with my ti tool 219b, iyp365 219c or even the Malkoff m361w 219.

I have a handful of SST-20’s and a Jetbeam twisty. Never thought about combining the two. I’ve swapped the emitter on a AA Jet twisty, haven’t opened a AAA though. I’ll give it a shot. Think I can find the time in the next few days.

Love my C01S, didn’t think I’d have much use for a 100lm AAA light but it’s becoming my nightstand light and hands free mouth light.

I added a Lee minus green filter to mine. There’s no glass lens so it’s just in front of the TIR.

TK also likes to use Lee minus green w the 4000k SST-20

I agree an aaa light makes a good hands free mouth light..
much better than an HDS for that.. lol
