Modding the CQG 3x18650 single XM-L T6 torch to TRIPLE XM-L U2 bin. (Build log) - IT'S ALIVE !!!

I really like this torch. There's nothing wrong with it in stock form, but what couldn't be made better by upping the power four- to fivefold ? The plan is to yank out the guts, replace with billet aluminum, then cram in a TRIPLE XM-L U2 setup with a 4-5A Turbo DRY driver. Can you say 3000 lumen out-the front ? Hehe... I did a mag mod with one of these when they first came out. Since then I've cut the host back to a 1D size, and use it quite often at work.

That looks like a good 3xU2 host candidate.

My current project involves swapping out the driver on my Beamtech BT4000. I'm not doing it. I lack the skills. Sending this out on Monday. I'll update BLF on this project.

lack the skills? you could just try anyway, and 'brick' stuff until you have them, that's what I did. Actually...to be honest, I'm still doing that lol

I'll look forward to BT4000 results - so far that looks like a great mod host.
