I am considering getting a 6xQ5. Your thoughts...

This light...

...has recently caught my attention. I have heard they are quite impressive performers, even though they are also a bit toward being unwieldy in size.

Would this be a good purchase?

Due to its size, I am also considering this light...

6 q5 is brighter / more throw than 3 xml.

This is my Keygos KE-7 6X Q5.

6 x Q5 is 25k cd for the best performers (nicely driven). Triple XM-L (DRY) gets 27k cd. I'm changing mine to U2.

And I don't think even 10 x Q5 does 3200 lumens at the emitter.

Actually for the money this would be a better purchase for brightness and throw.

This is THE classic.

But he wasnt comparing it to the dry.

Actually he isn't comparing to any triple XM-L neither, hence my general answer. The light in the second post is a triple P4. I think you mistook it for the Trustfire TR-3T6.

In fact as a general note, the Trustfire TR-J12 5 x XM-L would be equal in throw to these multi Q5s as well.

So what kind of OTF numbers am I looking at? Throw is great. Size isn't too bad. General reliability?

Both pics?
Or just the second?

Both.

3 xml give more light and are more efficient of 6 q5 at same wh

dunno about throw btw 6 q5 looks cool xD

... buy that is pointless imho

SIZE MATTERS! Since I generally purchase lights for the bike, I'm only interested in single battery, smaller lights. It took me a while to get used to the larger size of the KD C8 when I replaced my MTE SF-15. Unfortunately, run times are going to be pretty short for 1x18650 3x<any led> light.
