Astrolux FT03 XHP50.2 to SBT90.2 switch

I’m waiting for my Astrolux FT03 to arrive. I noticed the next FT03 is coming out with the SBT90.2 led. Can I do an emitter/pcb swap with the newer led? Seems like it should be ok.

*Bump. Neal has a few & I want to put one in an FT02 or GT Mini

A few spare emitters? Where did he post?

Sorry not Neal himself, m4dmax-

I ordered two from Neal.
GT mini will be too small for that led.
I will put one in an MF02 and one in my multi driver multi beam Niwalker BK FA-30S. And if I think the FT03S will too hot I will remove the led from it and put in a single cell Convoy L6. It has more mass for cooling.

Hey I’m gonna order a 90.2 from Neal. I’ve got a Astrolux FT03(XHP59.2) and a Convoy New L6(XHP70.2). Correct me if I’m wrong but my Astrolux is 6 v led and so is the Convoy? Therefore because the 90.2 is 12v, I’m outta luck??

The SBT90.2 is 3V and over 20A in direct drive. You need only one battery or batteries in parallel. The FT03 uses the 3V XHP50.2 while the Convoy XHP70.2 is 6V. You need a short tube if you want to use the SBT90.2 in the L6.

Hey thanks for the info. Hmmmm thought the new 90.2 would be 6v or 12v being it's so powerfull. But it is 3v so its a plus for the modders! Also I heard she gets Hot fast! Ahh well, good thing it winter here now!hehe

FT03 can work with SBT90.2 with just led swap. L6 needs a short tube and a fet driver.

You will probably need to swap the wire for bulkier one to accomodate the huge current.

12-gauge wire should be a minimum, or the biggest that can fit through the wire holes.

In a triple 50.2 3v to short pieces off a FETDD driver, 18awg will handle over 20amps no problem…
