Looking to buy, looking for a bargain, long-term use not ‘good enough for now’. Higher power and larger surface preferred.
I’m interested in this as well.

This is 100mm x 100mm. They do have several sizes.
Note that a bigger size does affect the shipping price substantially

Is that a good seller? Do they have a good soldering station? I need one of those too. I just have a butane soldering iron I use at work for landscape speakers

But that one is 220V. I think Jon Slider bought one and it was only operates at half the temp at 110V.
You need to find one that is 110V or 220V/110V compatible.
I bought the same model and it works fine, I’ve used it a number of times. Choice of 110v or 220v link below
$24.94 + $15.69 shipping
Quicko T12-942 MINI OLED Digital Soldering Station T12-907 Handle with T12-K Iron Tips Welding Tool
$24.99 + ~$2 shipping
I don’t have personal experience with this iron but it’s been recommended a few times.
CO-Z 2 in 1 SMD Soldering Rework Station with D898 Hot Air Heat Gun Set, Electric Solder Iron Kit with Holder, LED Digital
$34.99 + (free shipping with amazon prime)
This is a generic D898 rework station, these they are built cheap, there’s some tear down reviews on youtube.

Those hotplates have usually very optimistic power ratings and bad PE connection, usually the PE is only screwed near the socket and I found on mine the top aluminum plate totally insulated from ground
Not so nice with 220V heating elements

For the little I have done for the past few years, I use this 50mm x 50mm hotplate made from aluminum plates bolted together…
The 3 heaters are 12 volt, 40 watt used in 3D printers. Power comes from this….
And just to complete things I use this soldering station …

In true BLF fashion! Nice!
I see two options at that link- you have to pick either 110V US plug, or 220V EU plug, to place an order. Not trying to be dissagreeable, I’m just also looking for one and want to make sure I don’t waste money on a 220V only model.

ok, i opted for the bigger surface
claimed 800w, us seller, a bit cheaper than similar on ali.
A plug top RCD can be used to address this, it might also be possible to earth the plate properly assuming it isnt double insulated already
Can you provide a link to buy?

unfortunately i purchased the last one the seller had.
there must be some misunderstanding
my 10x10 hotplate is 110v and works really well
recommended
BobMcBob uses one too…
here is the original discussion
My hotplate arrived, in just 18 calendar days, and it Works!
Once I read the right page in the manual (the pics dont match my model), I figured out how to set the temperature. (not the way I tried before reading)
The unit arrived set to 100C initially, and pushing on the up down buttons was the wrong way to try and change it. I learned to press set first, after that… Bob’s Your Uncle!
It took about 16 minutes to get up to reflow temperature. I have not confirmed the calibration, I s…

220V won’t work on 110V even if the electronics start you got only 1/4 of the heating power
There might be hotplates which simply have for electronics 110/220V and the heating elements are for
110V 2 parallel
220V 2 heating elements in series
but you can’t tell from outside if they use that to save costs
No brainer for that money , i just ordered one
220v version

Hmmm…… 110 volts with a 6 amp fuse…. appears that the 800-watt figure is inflated a bit. But maybe if you use the same rating scale used for 10,000 mAh 18650 li-ion cells it makes some sense.
