(SOLVED)Help please with Astrolux MF01S Turbo mode

Hi, can someone help please:
I recently got the Astrolux MF01S and it works well apart from the turbo mode.
The thing that I dislike on my model is that when I click twice for turbo mode, it goes into turbo mode but only for about 2 seconds, then it switches back to the normal highest brightness. Even when the batteries are fully charged its the same effect. Always after around 2-3 seconds it gets less bright without me pressing anything. I would like it to stay in turbo mode for longer than a few seconds. What am I doing wrong? I have been reading the manual to understand the functions and I am not in muggle mode. Is there some setting to change the duration the turbo mode will stay on for? Its a brand new flashlight, I just got it. Please someone assist me with this, Thanks

What battery are in it?

Use non protected cells.
Mike

yeah like other said, what battery u run ? for that light on turbo u want really high drain cells. 30Q minimum or so.

I noticed one of the batteries is bigger than the others(on the right), probably it has protection, so I replaced it with the smaller green one but the lamp still doesnt stay in turbo mode for very long. Maybe the issue is that I am using different brands of batteries. Which ones can you recommend that arent too expensive. Thanks
Here is a picture of the batteries I have. I dont have any others at this time.

That Green Samsung is not enough to power your flashlight.

Thanks for the support. Whats wrong with the green Samsung? Which one should I get instead. The other 4 next to the Samsung on my photo are strong enough?

Get 4 of these:

It looks like a tired old laptop pull.
It’s not a high drain cell either.
The rest are unknown to me.
The one that says 4000mAh is definitely not god enough.
4000mAh 18650 do not exist and i bet it’s only 1400mAh in reality.

You need healthy high drain cells for this light, because it needs a LOT of current.

From the specs of your green Samsungs, they should do the trick: continuous high drain @ 20A max, unprotected, flat top. But they are not working out. I have the 30Qs and they work just fine. Check your head and tail contacts to make sure they are clean. Check battery contacts as well.

Thanks. I will order those Sony / Murata US18650VTC6 3000mAh - 30A you recommended. Probably it is just the batteries I have that are causing the issue. Strange that its just the turbo mode, all other modes work fine continuously. I will see if it stays in turbo mode once the new batteries arrive. Have a nice Christmas everyone

The load of the turbo mode is too heavy for the batteries to sustain the needed voltage, because the internal resistance (the average of the 4 you use) is too high.
So the voltage drops to “battery low” levels and the driver steps down immediately.
The load on the lower modes is not high enough to cause this to happen.

Thank you for this explanation. It now all makes sense to me.

never use unmatched cells in a 2S 8.4V battery light

seems all but one of your cells are pretty much only good for the recycle bin, fake capacity rating, unknown brand, Laptop pulls, very old cells, …

use 4 Sony VTC6 or Samsung 30Q
always when buying batteries get it from a reputable shop as there are many fakes around claiming to be the real ones but are not

Thanks again. It was just the cheap batteries causing the issue. I now have the recommended ones and it works great on turbo.
