I was going over my collection tonight, pulling out batteries and testing them, sort of got re-acquainted with some of the lights I've purchased that I haven't used in awhile.
Realized I had still really like all of them, except for two.
The first one I bought based on looks, and I think it is still the best-looking light in my collection, the Yezl S2 http://www.cnqualitygoods.com/goods.php?id=1069
Problem is it has a crappy aspheric and a crappy beam. I might have been able to forgive that, if it has 3 nice modes and no strobe, but it has High/Med/Strobe. Definitely a shelf queen, all show and no go.
I don't even know the name of the other one, but I bet a lot of you would recognize it. It's an 18650 light with a satin bezel, an XR-E emitter and a MAGNETIC MODE RING. Might as well be a mood ring, what a waste of money that one was. I am so done with XR-E emitters in p-60 size lights. Save 'em for the AAA lights...
Real POS. I think the annodizing is really paint, ringy beam, crappy switch and if I don't tighten everything down as hard as I can, it flickers constantly or turns off. Bought it as a budget S-Mini. You get what you pay for.
Edit: I do love the size and form, though. I will have an S-Mini some day...
I have a couple that I wouldn't buy again. One will surprise some folks because it is liked by many people but mine is a lemon and I wouldn't do it again.
Xeno E03 Mine has acted up from the start.
Monster Flashlight Pro C7 C This one should be better for a light that cost over $50.
Another one I wouldn't buy is my Quark AA2 Tactical. Not that it's not a good light, it's just that I like my Jetbeam BA20, Klarus P2A, Klarus ST20 and especially my Shiningbeam Caveman better and all were quite a bit less expensive.
mitro you were to list the ones which you regretted buying. and not list your full collection :)
if you want to get it fixed, no problem. it is a very primitive torch (as most torches are lol), easily disassembled, with FREE parts from your XENO distributor (he can order your broken parts FREE from the manufacturer who in turn would ship them with the next major shipment to the distributor. then the distributor would send you the parts with regular conus). you might still regret the purchase, your right. the only reason i regret the purchase is that i make more use of my other 1x AA torches and i could have gone without the Xeno with no problem.
Any alumium UF C3 .... I had a near 100% failure rate on 4+ lights (contact issues) ... different models ... different vendors ... they suck. The sellers should provide a mandatory repair kit with every alu C3... like include 2 copper rings.
