Something rattling in SOFIRN SP36

Hello, I just received my order form sofirn and one of the flashlights is rattling in the head. Sounds like a screw rattling around in the head.
I wanted to screw it back in but it looks like the flashlight is glued and i cant see a ay to safely disassemble it. Is it safe to operate this flashlight?
I am not sure its a good idea to turn it on, I am afraid something will short in the driver. What can I do?

I had the same problem recently. Contact Sofirn through whatever store you used. There’s an old post here about someone with a rattle that turned out to be a loose screw for the reflector I believe. You can’t access it by removing the bezel- unfortunately you need to remove the driver or possibly switch pcb. To remove the driver, I think you need to solder wires to the think chunk of metal that touches the batteries and pull. To remove the switch, you unscrew the chrome trim ring, and then I assume try to pry up the pcb. I couldn’t get it to come loose & couldn’t find instructions on how to do it

Try searching for ‘bent nail SP36’ on BLF.
You can push out the driver through the switch hole (instead of soldering wires to the brass ring and pull the driver)

Well, I will try to contact sofin, its not a super expensive light but its not cheap too. I will not mess with the glued PCB until I get a statement from them what to do next, I sent them a video, hope they respond me. If it wasnt glued, I wouldnt even bother contacting them but now I am afraid of messing it up. It arrived today so waranty should still be a thing even in china if it arrives damaged or not safe to use.

Hello,

I have had the same issue as well. My opinion is that their recent order issues might have resulted in production rush and quality control may have suffered.

Thank you.

Did you solve it please? Did you contact sofirn or rapaired it yourself?

I picked at it some more & got the switch out. What worked for me:

-unscrew the silver retaining ring (I used a very small pair of needle nose pliers as a watch repair wrench)
-remove rubber dust cover
-use a small pick & screwdriver to pry up switch from left and right sides. This took a lot of force and will probably break a pick & tear up the PCB a bit. Carreful, if the tool slips you might hit the LEDs and knock them off. If you’re careful you can avoid scratching the visible black anodizing of the head for cosmetics
-shake the light & remove the loose metal screw that’s rattling around inside
-push the pcb back in place + put dust cover & retaining ring back on.

I tore up the PCB a bit  I think it’s lightly glued down, you can see that some of the green PCB is still stuck to the light head in the pictures. It seems to work fine, I saw 2 similar screws inside the light that seemed to be correctly installed & I guess hold the reflector in place. I don’t want to give this one away as a gift
