Kryptek (LED Wave) MTL DEFENSER Repair

I tried using unprotected 16340 cells in my Kryptek MTL DEFENSER and fried a component on the driver.

Unfortunately I am unable to determine exactly what the component is (some sort of transistor) and a viable replacement.

The component in question is marked JAWq. Would anyone know what the component is and\or a viable replacement?
