I got the suncore mm01 from fasttech about 6 months ago, looks to be the same setup as the astrolux m01 but different body. It looks like the led dome was ripped off into the centre hole of the tir lense. Has anyone else seen this happen with these type of lights???
,many here rip off domes on purpose, led still works, even better in some ways, if you can open it do it, and remove loose dome. if not, well, too bad, learn to live with it. i had a light that lost half a dome, i could not take it apart it was press fit, so it rattled there, was not really affecting the function.
Wish that was the case, where the dome was ripped off, it must have damaged the led as it’s not working anymore.
in that case you definitely need to take it apart, very likely dome pulled off a wire to the chip, and killed the led. do you have skills, tools to open and replace it?
Will keep it as I’ve been thinking of learning to reflow LEDs. But will replace it now but can’t decide on dqg or cooyoo
reflowing is super easy, all you need is a frying pan or a metal plate, and an oven\stove. that is all, i thought it was something complicated, until i tried, all you got to do is set your stove burner to 2-3, put the led on a frying pan, and watch, if you removing the led, you will see solder around it get shiny and liquid, it is time to get a tweezers and remove the led, if you reflowint it, apply some paste to the star, and watch it first get thinner and spread everywhere, than a minute or 2 later you will see the paste become silver liquid and getting under the led, it should also center it, as a final touch i use a wooden pencil, to press slightly on the led while solder is liquid, it gets extra solder out, and centers it if it did not center before.
