I found this on the Austrian health agency webpage:

(used Google translate)

Quote:

Can the corona virus be transmitted from China through merchandise?

There is no evidence that merchandise poses a risk. The cases diagnosed so far indicate close contact with sick people as a source of infection. Exactly how long the virus remains on surfaces is unclear. If you cough or sneeze in your hand and then touch a doorknob or touch your phone and pass it on, the virus can be transmitted in this way. But half an hour later, according to the World Health Organization, that should no longer be a problem.

the number of cases within China has accelerated, far surpassing the rate of new SARS cases in 2003
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/world/asia/china-coronavirus-co...

Quote:
Early indications suggest the mortality rate for this virus is considerably less than another coronavirus, MERS, which kills about one in three people who become infected, and SARS, which kills about one in 10. All of the diseases appear to latch on to proteins on the surface of lung cells, but MERS and SARS seem to be more destructive to lung tissue. As of Jan. 31, fewer than one in 40 of the people with confirmed infections had died. Many of those who died were older men with underlying health problems.

I think my HT70 had the coronavirus,,,,,or was it just shoddy work?

Looks like they did not have enough solder paste,,,flashback from my TN32 where the LED burnt. Thrunite/Illumns took care of me immediately.

Just got it today.Did not even use 2 minutes and I notice smoke under the lens! One of the LEDS burnt.

I EXPECT a Full refund for a DEFECTIVE product. If not, PAYPAL dispute!

Photo right after it happened. Chemical film is noticeable under lens.

You can't hide me from me.

I have been on this forum for a long time but I don’t make many posts, just try to learn from the more experienced. I saw this on the Smart News app on my phone over lunch and with all the paranoia going on with the Coronavirus be careful what you open on your computer or phones.

Mmmmmmmm, not quite. Hantavirus is common in the western US, and can survive for years if not decades in mouse droppings. Go cleaning out a barn or something, inhale mousecrap-dust, and you can pick it up.

Hantavirus dies pretty quickly, the thing is, where there have been rats and mice there probably ARE rats and mice, so lots of fresh droppings. Personally I try to keep the amount of feces and dried urine I inhale or ingest to a minimum.

I point to others in this group to justify how many flashlights I have.

I wouldn’t be to concerned with packages from China. You probably should be more concerned with the RSV virus especially if you have very young children or elderly in your family. It’s very widespread this year.

There’s going to be a major outbreak in the United States on Monday. Thousands of people are going to call in sick.
Caused by the Corona Virus and other viruses of the same family such as the Budweiser virus, Heineken virus and …………….
Ground Zero will likely be Kansas City.

Everyone will have to sterilize everything, since your mail carrier also delivers your regular mail plus all of the post offices, airplanes, luggage, airports, etc. OMG the world is ending!!!!!!!!! We need to exterminate the human race NOW!!!!!!

THIS. It’s much more likely to happen than an asteroid strike. I really hope there are some companies looking into specialized boring equipment that can cut into volcanoes to create pressure release openings. Not for lava flows but for gas venting.

… Closing borders to highly infectious pathogens never succeeds completely, experts said, because all frontiers are somewhat porous. Nonetheless, closings and rigorous screening may slow the spread, which will buy time for the development of drug treatments and vaccines.

Other important unknowns include who is most at risk, whether coughing or contaminated surfaces are more likely to transmit the virus, how fast the virus can mutate and whether it will fade out when the weather warms….

Will only happen if there's $ incentives to do so, or if companies with the resources to do so are in danger of getting affected by those super volcanoes directly (ground zero). I hope I'm wrong.

On the bright side, with the “nuclear winter” that’ll happen when the supervolcano blows and airborne ash blots out the sun, at least we won’t have to worry about “global warming” anymore… Party Beer

I’m not ordering simply out of protest for their MISHANDLING of this crisis. Given all their technology and CONTROL over everything… the virus shouldn’t have escaped their shores.

The Smithsonian Channel must have aired Super Volcano documentary again

China has been attacking us with biological warfare for decades.
Proof?

I give you;

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snakehead_%28fish%29

I wanted to include Kudzu but after research it appears our friends the Japanese helped us with that.
Apparently US farmers willingly planted that monster as a way to control erosion.

Regardless, all from eastern Asia.

I think they were going to take an extended break for Chinese New Year.

After that (and I'm not sure when that is), I believe they will start shipping again.

When the Wuhan coronavirus was still pretty new, I thought it would spread throughout the United States quickly as it has in China.

But cases in the U.S. have been spreading very slowly, so I'm not nearly as worried as a while ago.

Plus, although it has spread quickly in China, the mortality rate is pretty low compared to other similar diseases.

I bought into the media's scare tactics, and hopefully people who are in charge of things did also, and are taking this threat seriously so that it doesn't become a serious worldwide problem.
