Any reviews around?

The only specs I’ve seen is the “7300 lumens (powered by 40T) ; 55 000cd” claim on their site. I haven’t seen any reviews of it yet. I just recently received mine, but haven’t had a chance to play around with it yet.

Thanks, went ahead and ordered it, especially with the BLF discount code Wink Able to get the E07 Osram in Titanium and picked up a E01 with the Osram also.(not to mention a PL47G2 XPL 5K from their US warehouse)… One of them has to be fun…
Getting a MF01S over the ROT66 tho, shame that would have ran the Fireflies circle.

My Osram E01 turns angry blue the second I turn on turbo, max setting in ramping is fine though. Be careful not to fry it.
I checked and the MCPCB makes good thermal contact, I even reflowed the LED and nothing changed so this might just be too much current for this little LED.

Go with the USA warehouse if your local and like the led offerings. Shipped quick.

Shipping from China is delayed to the US and don’t get batteries with it cause you may never get it. Definitely went with the Titanium Osram version Wink I love the led, just hope it’s a great balance of throw and flood in my pocket. Also bought the E01 Osram due to a low price. The PL47G2 came from the US warehouse. Came quick. By far the ugliest headlight I have ever seen, but with the XP-l 5000k it’s one of my most versatile lights I own now. Love it that ugly bastard

The USA warehouse did not have it in the configuration I had wanted. What`s frustrating is I can`t even log onto the Fireflies website to access my order.
How does a country just arbitrarily extend a holiday (and a long one at that), seriously.

Best thing about the US warehouse is that they come with batteries, chargers, clips and (PL47) the headband. Value up and the code worked.

Fasttech explain that on their website that:

“Service alert: the ongoing coronavirus spread is placing China under defecto lockdown.
Local labor policy currently prevents staffs from returning to work as scheduled.
Customer service is available with limited capacity at this time as we work from home.
Shipping is now expected to resume normal service on February 10, 2020. More details to follow. “

So possible the same reason.

Coast is a make of flashlight which i’m guessing sells for $10ish in Home Depot.

Which battery (21700) is everyone using with this light?

Picked up a couple of 21700 Samsung INR21700-30T 3000mAh High Discharge Flat Top from Illumn when they were on sale… might still be. They work well for the E07 SST20 NW 5000K that was priced well in a package with a cheap charger and battery. Really like this flashlight and might try Osram version.

I was looking to run the Samsung 50E (5000mah)
It`s discharge rate is just about 10a.
What`s the minimum discharge rate this light would accept?

The 40T can drive 20amps continuous, so a 10amp battery will not cause any problems. But others know more about the Osram and whether you will get full lumens, if that is what you’re after. A D4Svn is the only Osram I have and Vinh does something to regulate the current so the emitter doesn’t turn blue. This light might do the same. Sorry I cannot help more.

The E07 deserves, nay, need a high capacity battery (5000mah) since it`s such a lumens beast but unfortunately the 50E doesn`t do more than 10 amps Sad

If you want higher amperage (higher current) then a high drain, aka high discharge, battery is needed. If you want longer runtime between charging then a high capacity battery is best. Some lights draw a lot of amps on turbo, although usually not for very long due to heat, and need a battery like the 30T that handles the demand to get full turbo lumens. Someone needs to chime in on the maximum draw of the Osram E07, but I would be surprised if it needs more than a 10 or 15 amp battery for a visible difference on turbo. But no guarantees, I have been wrong before. Anyway, high amps might shorten the emitter’s life if the max draw is hard on the emitter. So depending upon how you use it and what you expect from it, a high capacity battery might be a prudent choice. It is hard to say without knowing max draw.

I`m not looking to use it for extended times on turbo but it`s good to have for responding to that `Bump in the night`
I`m looking to use this as an all arounder for work, camping, changing a care tire, etc. etc.
I bought the Osram version because I wanted some throw in it.
Just got my shipment status today Smile
So I have a week or two or three to get a battery or two

I have the D4Svn also and I appreciate the increased throw. What I’m really looking for is an E07 with throw equal (or nearly equal) to the D4S with SST 20. Anybody know if that’s even theoretically possible?

Different SST-20’s have different candela therefore different throw. Below is from a post somewhere:
Model: EMISAR D4S
OTF lumen output and candela at start-up
XP-G2 S4 : 3300lm / 40,000cd
Nichia 219C : 3000lm / 20,000cd++++
XP-L HI : 4300lm / 45,000cd
XP-L HD : 5100lm / 27,000cd
SST-20 6500K: 4200lm / 58,000cd
SST-20 5000K: 4000lm / 55,000cd
SST-20 4000K/3000K 95CRI: 3000lm / 41,000cd*_*
Based on the declared output lumens and tests of xp-l hi and sst-20 95CRI current should be about 13 amps with a full battery on turbo.

You can calculate throw if the web page only shows candela:
http://flashlightwiki.com/Light_Output_Measurements,
Throw is just the square root of the light intensity in candela divided by 0.25 lux which gives meters.

As you know, the actual useable throw is about half the theoretical throw, so we are careful to compare “apples to apples” as they say.

Don’t know if I trust the numbers after what they did with the ROT 66 G2. Vinh tested that at 10k lumens and it has 4 18650s and 12 LEDs so yh 7300lm would be nice but it sounds a bit exaggerated. My guess is 6000-6500.

The ROT66G2 uses 3×18650 and 12 LEDs. Though the output difference between the 12 LED ROT66 and 7 LED E07 is not linear. Of the 10 or so E07 I measured, the brightest I got was from a 5000K XP-L HI at 7500 lumens but most of the XP-L HI measures 6700 to 7200 lumens, which includes the 4000K 5A versions that Fireflies rate at 6200 lumens. The W2 emitter should be about the same brightness as the XP-L HI or maybe even slightly brighter.

Vinh got 7700 lumens with the W2 in the MT07 but only 5850 lumens in the E07. Not sure why because both lights measure the same lumens with XP-L HI and SST-20 emitters when using same 21700 cells.

are those 1 or 2mm²?
even the 1mm² should not turn blue on 5A each

Of course getting nasty batteries like Samsung 30T is probably not the best idea
5000mAh ones should be soft enough to limit the current to safe levels
