Powerful warm white budget torch/flashlight?

What is the most powerful warm white budget torch/flashlight? Preferably with high CRI?

Already have a few old warm white torches but maybe acquiring something modern with a few thousand lumen wouldn’t be too big a stretch.

A Convoy S2+ in 7A tint could suffice, although Convoy have 3000k offerings their more powerful torches such as the S11 XHP50.2 and the M3 (XHP70.2). Emisar have warm white options as well.

Sofirn/Wurkkos have numerous options in warm white. Wurkkos WK20 in 3000k XP-L HD. Sofirn C8F in 3000k and 4000k XP-L HD, or 2700k LH351D w/90 CRI. Not sure what size class/format you’re looking for, but if you’re looking to put out “a few thousand lumens” you’re looking at this size class and up.

If you REALLY want max power yes, you can get Emisar lights with the 3000k SST-20. The D18 is probably going to be your lumen king. I really like the C8F though, it has a nice form factor.

Fireflies have their ROT66 with sst-20 2700K, but not their E07 and PL47 unfortunately.

Do you have a link to the seller for the C8F? Couldn’t find any warm white options on Banggood or the Sofirn Aliexpress store. Sofirn’s website does indeed have a 3000k XP-L version for sale. Thanks for the suggestions.

Yes Sofirn sells them directly from their website. The LH351D 2700k is here: https://sofirnlight.com/collections/flashlights/products/sofirn-c8f-21700-flashlight-lh351d-2700k-90cri

I’ve never seen the 2700k but I have 3500k LH351D swapped into my FW1A and I am a huge fan of the LED.

Emissar D18 with SST20 3000k Emisar D18, 3*18650, 14000lm flashlight

I was liking the idea of the Convoy S11 and M3 on Convoy’s Aliexpress store, but after tax they are close in price to the Sofirn C8F and Emisar D4v2 respectively, which can be bought from the company websites which avoid the tax.

In my case sticking to 18650 or having a battery included is important, another strike unfortunately against the Convoy options. If money was no object the Emisar D18 would definitely show what warm white can do.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. Ended up going with a C8F (LH351D 2700k) as it was good value, the design and build quality is reported to be acceptable and it should be good at sustaining a high output. As I own an FW3A with SST-20s, a torch with Samsung LH351Ds should be good for comparison, hopefully 2700k won’t be too warm.

Some further thoughts:
For “exploring” the warm white world a lot of lumens is helpful as the eye doesn’t register warm colours as well as cooler colours as far as I know (green is the most visible). I think the choice ultimately comes down to what kind of budget you can justify spending on adding a light to your existing collection.

Purely in terms of high 2700-3000k output for outdoor use (ignoring the aesthetics) here’s how they might currently stack up:

  1. Emisar D18
  2. Fireflies ROT66 gen. II
  3. Sofirn C8F (apparently can sustain decent output)
  4. Convoy M3 (apparently an unecessary timed stepdown reduces output)
  5. Emisar D4Sv2 (compact size limits heat dissipation)
  6. Convoy S11 (two highest modes are 30% or 100%)
  7. Emisar D4v2 (least amount of surface area, maybe better suited to cooler tints.)

For Australian buyers, in terms of bang-for-buck here’s my guesstimation. Countries without online sales tax may find better prices on Banggood/AliExpress/Gearbest:

  1. ROT66 gen. II (US$66.30 shipped with coupon from Fireflies store)
  2. Sofirn C8F (US$32.80 incl. battery shipped with coupon from Sofirn store)
  3. Emisar D4Sv2
  4. Emisar D4v2
  5. Emisar D18
  6. Convoy M3
  7. Convoy S11

Some companies like Emisar and Fireflies do custom builds. Emisar charge $20 extra I think.

Edit: just realised the D18 comes in 3000K. That’s the brightest warm light I can think of right now.
