Anybody know where to find a 15mm driver that will run on 2AAs? I have used this driver http://www.dealextreme.com/p/2-7v-6v-3w-cree-circuit-board-for-flashlights-15mm-2-7mm-25518 a few times but it wont run on 2AAs. Not for long anyhow. I could still use it but I don’t want to use a 14500 and spacer on this light.
I gave it a try but it is really a hard to find item. Better off gettinga a 2xAA flashlight to rip it's driver out and use it sof something else.

However the driver might be in the lower end offerings. No warranty either it's a 15mm one!

some guys tried to sand down to 15mm, if you do it carefully it will work
Have you considered a Madmax plus from the Sandwich Shoppe? .55"/14.9mm diameter, 0.8-5V, Iout 700mA constant current regulated.
It's three times as expensive as the DX drivers, but it can run of two LSD NiMH (which is what I prefer over alkalines these days).

maybe this can be adapted, by filing a little
- 16mm base board with 5.5mm height
- Perfect for making yourself a 14500 / 10440 / AA / AAA / CR2 / CR123A flashlight, or any light that fits within the voltage input range
