Anybody have or know anything about this headlight?

Anybody know anything about this headlight? Looks decent to me. I have a good Eotech headlight but I'm looking for a another decent budget priced one.

I have heard it said that these headlights are very low quality. I think they are an all plastic design which means the heat from the LED has nowhere to go. Personally I would rather spend another $10 and get something like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/flood-to-throw-zooming-focusable-cree-q3-wc-130-lumen-led-headlamp-3-aaa-29435

It is basically a Led Lenser (probably come out of the same factory) but around 1/2 the price.

this Remington Rayovac headlamp is decent if you want something smaller/lighter.

Eotech makes headlamps?

I just picked this one up and I highly recommend it. It takes an 18650 battery so it has awesome run time and it comes with a wall plug to recharge the battery. It has a real nice flood beam and puts out tons of light on low, high is overkill even more so if you mod it to an XML. If you can solder the emitter is easily swapped out for an XML. I did the XML mod and it pull .5 amps (250 lumen) on low and 1.5 amps on high (550 lumen).

This one's cheaper if budget is a priority: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250779304687?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Takes AA or 14500. I owned one briefly before my friend 'borrowed' it. Seemed not bad for the $, though AA output wasn't blinding. Never got the chance to try li-ions.

I had a little too many Stones last night, but they keep me smooth. That should have said

Princeton Tec Eos.

Holy Moly! That looks like a zombie killing light! Or at least the specs of one.

Can you give some battery life numbers on NiMh? Ive read that it has very poor battery life, otherwise looks tempting, planning to get couple of cheapies and compare them, this looks like decent candidate.

BTW, found this one, anyone can comment, dont want to hijack OP's thread, but this looks like it could be very good deal given that it looks like Fenix HP20 cheapo-clone judging by its appearance yet with 3xAA it could offer decent beam and battery life?

Really tempted to pull the trigger on this one!

Theres also HL20 clone floating around but that doesnt seem as interesting as HP20 clone.

Sorry, I have to confess that I've never used NiMh batteries in any flashlight yet, though a set of eneloops are on my wishlist (they're NiMh, right?) Also I have to confess that I'm very lazy when it comes to testing a new light; basically I just wait till output is noticeably dimmer and change the battery . But I'm sure I would have noticed if runtime on AA was particulary bad, and I don't remember it as being so.

There were, however, two things about that head torch that I felt could have been improved. One was that the beam wasn't quite as floody as I might have liked, even when zoomed out. Obviously this is a personal choice, and anyway, it wasn't too bad in that respect. The other thing was that I felt it would have benefitted from a secondary strap to go over the top of my head, rather than just the one 'belt' type that it comes with. But grip and comfort weren't bad, and for the money it seemed a pretty good light. I may actually buy another..

Cool, thanks for some facts, Im not sure whether I want to invest in 2-3 budget lights and find out that all of them have identical beams, either all of them pure flood or other way around, none of them being floody enough . Id like to have one thrower, one floodie and one weirdo light with red/green led's.

I can always buy some diffuser or make my own to make it more floody, but unless I get only one headlamp that is decent thrower there should be no need in diffuser IMO if using multiple lights.

Regarding Eneloops - they are NiMh and Im going to be using only them, regular 2000mah AA eneloops and their "boosted" XX series 2500mah AA batteries in all my coming flashlights.

I have two of these, they are actually pretty bright and work well but NEITHER worked correctly when I got them. I found out that I needed to tighten the inner, non sliding tube that screws into the battery tube. Once I did this to both of them with pliers they worked great. Now I am actually pretty happy with them, especially when used with a 14500, they are bright. Being able to use AA in a pinch is nice too.

Care to share battery life numbers on its modes with alcaline/nimh :D?
Im considering this light, hence why asking the same stuff ;)
